Title: Re: Blue indigo Post by: Hog Dog Mike on October 17, 2013, 03:31:19 pm We used to run across them often when I was guiding quail hunts on the King Ranch. It was a big time No No to kill one. I was told they would kick you off of the ranch for killing one.
Title: Re: Blue indigo Post by: mikejc on October 17, 2013, 06:50:20 pm We caught one here in Tuleta that measured 6' 3inch. But yall are right they are protected.
Title: Re: Blue indigo Post by: charles on October 17, 2013, 09:43:54 pm if they r that protected, then the tpwd better come get it if I find 1 on my property. I would chat myself first n if it was still after getting off the phone with the wardens and changed my pants n the wardens were no were to be found, the snale wouldn't b found either.
Title: Re: Blue indigo Post by: MrsLouisianaHogDog on October 18, 2013, 11:25:56 am They are harmless to people and dogs, and will flee if stumbled upon. It's also true that they do eat rattlesnakes. I can understand folks killing rattlers, and other venomous, but not non-venomous. Snakes do play a major role our ecological system.
Title: Re: Blue indigo Post by: Swine Stoppers on October 18, 2013, 11:51:35 am No he's definitely not dead he's somewhere around the house or the fence lines around it keepin the rattlesnakes at bay. Here's a couple more pictures of him movin and then him stranglin my arm.
