Title: Hunting boots Post by: BBBB hoggers on October 18, 2013, 11:45:59 pm I got a new pair of chippawa hunting boots. They let the water in in the dewy grass. Then we bayed 2 hogs in the middle of a 15 AC tank. They got really wet. So my question is what does everyone use to waterproof. What is the best stuff

I ain't one to worry about water in the boots until they are full of water so I like them to drain. I like mink oil to protect leather from water. I have seen that stuff they call never wet or something but have not tried it.

I use turbine engine oil on my boots and reapply with just normal wear every 4-5 months, but if I have been in mud and have to wash numerous times, I reapply every 2 months. thin 5w motor oil will work better and longer than wd-40
Title: Re: Hunting boots Post by: Shotgun wg on October 20, 2013, 06:00:00 pm I have used neets foot oil. It works ok I guess. I use lacrosse alpha sports if water is gonna be an issue. If not I wear my old trusty lacrosse work boots. They are waterproof as well.
