Title: Stoppin a bleeding ear
Post by: SaltyhoggerJr on November 12, 2013, 05:05:26 pm
What's the easiest way y'all get an ear to quit bleedin? It's just a small little chunk missin out of the bottom of my dogs ear. She must've busted it open Saturday night and it gets busted back open almost every day. I know ears can be a real pain in the ass because they are always bein flopped around or scratched but is there a trick to gettin it to scab and quit? Anything helps. Thanks.

not being a smart a$$, but clean any dried or clotted blood from around the area and use super glue. it will burn, but military rumor was, that's what super glue was invented for in WW II was for battle field wound dressing to help stop small wounds.

that's basically what they use now is a kind that dissolves on us. My brother busted the side of his forehead open here while back and they used that instead of stitches. For parts that have little skin or where you can't use stitches.

I used a little piece of a paper towel and super glue to form a cast of sorts over my bulldogs ear when it got cut one time. It worked good

I've seen my old grandfather do this years ago to his coon hounds he would take a hot metal rod and  put it to the wound it seemed to work. I think the supper glue would be a lot more humane. Lol

The super glue works good and if you hunt her again before it's healed, put a little duct tape over the end of it. Has worked more than once for us.
