Title: Newton boar hogs
Post by: justincorbell on February 09, 2014, 02:35:17 am
Myself and josh stokley Made a run to newton this evening and after talkin to him on and off for quite some time I had the pleasure of meetin Mr. Nash this evening along with two other gentleman. First let me say thanks to Mr. Nash for the invite, we enjoyed the hell out of it. Not long after we first dropped dogs we had a solid bay, eased in and caught a dang fine boar hog off the bat, finally made it back to the buggies and I realized that i never saw one of my dogs who was at the bay originally, a dog I bought from "Djhogdoggers" last year. We eased back in to get the pig and found him not far away laid up, he took a whoopin along with Mr. Nashs' dog, they were the first two to bay and we are pretty sure they tried to catch and well, it didnt work for em. Both dogs will be fine but camo is on the dl for a while, he came extremely close to getting the tendon in his back leg severed but luckily mr. Boar hog missed it.

No idea on weight but he was a stout devil, Mr. Nash toted him home to put in his pen

Not long after we dropped the hog off at the truck and tended to dogs we were right back in the pork, caught and stuck  another boar hog, not as big as the first but still a decent hog.

While we were dealing w/ hog #2 Mr. Nashs' gyp was workin on her own, we got hog #2 loaded and headed to #3, ended up bein a little dink around 25-30lbs but I ain't complainin one bit, he will taste great on the pit!

We had a hell of a good time and all the dogs were hunting real good, just one of those nights where everything works out right. Mr. Nash, thanks again and hopefully we will repeat next weekend!

Josh and Mr. Nash have some better pics so hopefully they will see this and add a few, sorry for the chitty story but I'm tired! Night' folks

Mr. Myles you would have to ask Mr. James or Mrs. Dinah Psencik, i bought him from them, he is out of their blood, just good ol east texas curr dog as far as I know. I hunted w/ him numerous times while with them and really liked him, they were doin a little re-arrangin at the house gettin ready for pups I believe and told me they were sellin him, we made a deal and now he's here, i like him alot, good solid dog all the way around.

I just now saw this because I dont get on here much any more.  Justin, im so proud that Camo is doing good work for you.  He was always a good dog for us too. The only reason we gave him and his brother up is because it was time to make room for the nexr generation. Im so glad that you keep us udated on how he is doing. His dad came from a local woman who is in her 50's now and is keeping her grandfather''s line of east texas curs going.  Camo's dad (Foot) passed away. We only got one litter out of him. Of that litter we kept two males and one female. All three are making good dogs. Both males now belong to friends and we still have the female (Penny). We bred her back to our old male (Red) and we kept three out of that litter.  They are seven months old now and all making me proud. Im in discussions now with the woman who Foot came from about maybe a future breeding of her old dogs to replenish her line. Im keeping my fingers crossed.

Mrs. Dinah, like I told Mr. James yesterday, I absolutely couldn't be happier with Camo, he has FAR exceeded my expectations and is making one hell of a co-lead dog with smoke, when those two are both healthy they are a force to be reckoned with.........now if I could just get them on the same time off list i would be in shape  rolleyes lol, seems like this year when one is healthy the other is on the mend lol but i've got some fireballs coming up quick that are well on their way to earning a spot. You will laugh but I can honestly say I have had over a 1/2 dozen folks try to buy him off me since I got my hands on him lol.........this boy is just like that ol mutt smoke, they wont be leavin this yard............. O and if you want a great laugh ask your husband about what camo pulled on me yesterday in the middle of a rock road 400yds on the other side of a locked gate with a no trespassing sign.......all I could do was laugh!
