Title: Dollin's bred plott hounds? Post by: downsouthhogdoggin on February 10, 2014, 06:40:19 pm I wanted to know if anyone can give me some feedback on some Dollin 's bred Plott hounds and how they hunt?
Title: Re: Dollin's bred plott hounds? Post by: hoghunter71409 on February 10, 2014, 07:01:53 pm Years ago the Dollins line got crossed heavily with the Hicks line; thus many dogs are referred to as Dollin's/Hick's. There may be very few people still breeding solid Dollin's dogs, but I think most of them are on other forums such as Big Game Houndsmen. You may also google the Dollin's Plotts. MY guess is that most people on here that have Dollin's in their plotts probably got them from White Deer Kennels. Good luck in finding out about the line.

Title: Re: Dollin's bred plott hounds? Post by: Cajun on February 10, 2014, 07:59:46 pm Leo Dollins originally started his line of Plotts off of Brandenbburgers Pioneer Jake. They were a very large hounds in the 80# class. He bred them for bear but also hunted bobcat with them. They were very cold nose hounds with big bawl mouths. Leo had a guide service & he used these dogs to catch bears for clients.

But you dropped her and you would never see her again if you got close she would go loop back out great bottom. Was a good solid dog i have 2 pups that are half dollins and at 10 months old are finding hogs. Had them out to 900 yds other day just hunting. So what i ahve seen they were pretty decent.

Post by: arrowbar on February 11, 2014, 10:46:36 pm They also used big ben in their lines and those who hunted with that dog said he was at least 110-120. They are big coldnosed dogs. Ken dollins is the grandson of LEO and still raises dollins dogs.
