Title: Keeping your dogs in shape Post by: JandAoutdoors on August 28, 2009, 11:12:02 pm I live in south carolina and deer season goes from Aug. 15- Jan. 1. and its illegal to hunt at night in SC... I have a few pple who will let me hunt there place part of deer season but i wanted to know how yall keep yalls dogs in shape when yall aint hunting?
Title: Re: Keeping your dogs in shape Post by: Silverton Boar Dogs on August 28, 2009, 11:41:43 pm I work mine on cattle, they can bay cattle 30 min/day 2-3 times a week. Its a great work out, tunes up their bay style, and really unwinds there brain.

Figured the dogs could "hunt" in the big one once a week and get the pups ready for January 1 st when deer season goes out.

Title: Re: Keeping your dogs in shape Post by: BigAinaBuilt on August 31, 2009, 05:29:05 pm I put my dogs on an old treadmill I got from a garage sale 3 times a week even on the weeks that we hunt and try and take them to the beach at least twice a month each for a swim. I am not sure how this affects their conditioning but it sure does make my kennels alot quieter on the weeks we don't get to get in the bushes.
