What is the best way to get oil stains off of your driveway? I have a couple that are bad...

Sprinkle cat litter on them, oil never dries it just seeps into the pores of the concrete. Itll soak it up unless it rains. Just leave on there for a couple days

There is a acid cleaner called sure clean that will take the oil stain off but it will make the treated spot look different that the rest of the driveway.

I have used simple green most any auto parts store will sell it...I have also used charcoal lighter fluid...just let it soak for a while and then scrub it up with paper towels...

What if u burned it?

He he my mom use to make me park in the street for this reason.

Get plain old Muratic Acid sold at hardware or pool supply stores. It is used to adjust ph in swimming pools.
Wear some gloves and pour it slowly on oil stain. Let set a few minutes, rinse off. Repeat if necessary. It will pull
the oil out of the concrete.

get a sack of concrete mix and scrub it in dry works good /sweep it off next day or before it rains

X2 this works like a charm. My stepmom use to hate when my dad & I would work on trucks on the driveway because of the oil stains. But now you can't even tell. But be very careful, it'll burn your skin to hell

I have already put some concrete on it to get the Home Owners Assn. off my butt. I didnt realize it would  be such a pain in the A$$ to get off.

We put orange clean from work on it n it cleans it right up when it drys its ba k to lookin new.  Ill try to het a pic of it

Peachcreek, What color will the Sure Clean leave the concrete?

I have thought about renting a steam pressure washer, the regular pressure washer don't clean it. If the muratic acid pulls the oil out then I may try it.

Sure clean is a cleaner that contains muratic acid and a detergent. It cleans great, but will kind of scald the top layer of concrete. It will bleach the concrete white, but everything around it will look dingy. Sometimes i think it is better to just paint the driveway with oil so it all matches. Lol
I run into stains all the time at work. I am a concrete guy by trade and anal inspectors and clients are my daily headache.

I use shure clean for brick...works well for me. And yes inspector s are a pain

Pretty much so..... even the nicest inspector i know has a complex. It seems to me most inspectors let their jobs go to their heads. Let me guess grittydog, you are an inspector.

That was a loaded question. Yes I'm an Electrical/Instrument Inspector.

a good inspector is not liked by the construction guys...but one that goes out to lunch and on fishing/hunting trips with the builder is one that is usually liked...  ;D

as a buyer I would like a hard nosed common sense inspector...at least that is what I get from my observations...  :)
