Title: Neutered dog ? Post by: buford on April 02, 2014, 10:32:24 pm I've been offered a young dog, his a year and a half old and just been started and messed with a little. BUT he has been neutered. Anyone ever hunted a neutered dog?
Title: Re: Neutered dog ? Post by: dodgegirl on April 02, 2014, 10:38:57 pm Don't make a difference. I've had spayed dogs & neutered dogs never had a problem with them. Matter of fact I think the males hunt better cause they ain't worried about chasin that tail.
Title: Re: Neutered dog ? Post by: halfbreed on April 02, 2014, 10:40:04 pm it's not a matter of being nuetured . if it has the hunt it will hunt . many a dog out there has been clipped . the big game boys do it all the time .
Title: Re: Neutered dog ? Post by: buford on April 02, 2014, 10:45:40 pm Why do they do it halfbreed ?
Title: Re: Neutered dog ? Post by: Nannyslayer on April 02, 2014, 10:51:36 pm Why do they do it halfbreed ? Dog aggression, not having to stop and piss on every bush, keeps em focused on the job at hand. Title: Re: Neutered dog ? Post by: dallas22 on April 02, 2014, 10:56:17 pm Why do they do it halfbreed ? do it as a pup or adultTitle: Re: Neutered dog ? Title: Re: Neutered dog ? Post by: halfbreed on April 03, 2014, 05:01:33 pm Buford mainly the reason for the big game guys is time and limited seasons . you don't want to wait all year to hunt and then your dogs are in heat and the males will have breeding on the brain lol . when a male dog with goobers gets that smell from a gyp in their nose that's all they think about and want to fight the other males due to the competitive nature of breeding .
Title: Re: Neutered dog ? Post by: buford on April 04, 2014, 10:56:02 pm Halfbreed, man told me this dog comes from competing coon dog, he's got me believing he just doesn't want he's blood spread out there and claiming to be those dogs, but I would think if you bread this great dog why would you neuter the whole litter? What did you breed him for ? Just to sale the pups? Honestly asking because I'm learning... Usually we breed dogs because we want the dogs like what we have and then after they get going the best out of the bunch gets kept around to see if he or she is good enough to breed to keep it going, but I am referring to cur dogs I've always had, still new to this change I've made to treeing walkers which is what this dog is, what if he ends up being an all star of a dog was it really a good idea to cut him so that he wasn't messing with a female on a hunt?
Title: Re: Neutered dog ? Post by: halfbreed on April 05, 2014, 08:34:00 am I think you might have been fed a load of crap , competition boys don't neuter . what kind of pedigree do the papers show ?
Title: Re: Neutered dog ? Post by: tomtom on April 05, 2014, 08:50:35 am They dont even know they are nuetered. Aint gonna affect the hunt in them one bit. And dog aggression is dog aggression. Totally different from food or breeding aggression.
Title: Re: Neutered dog ? Post by: Tusk Hog on April 05, 2014, 04:02:20 pm I've had several male dogs with too much aggression towards other males. In my oppinion, after I castrated them they hunted even harder.
