Title: New Guy Checking in
Post by: DirtyDave on May 05, 2014, 01:15:22 pm
Nice Forum you guys have here. Been reading for a little while and decided to sign up since I'm moving to TX in July.
Born and Raised in Southern CA. Don't hold that against me, I'm not a "Typical Californian" haha.
We run Jagds on Hogs, Deer, Coons, Coyotes, and even use them as Bird Dogs.
Bringing my 2 jagd gyps with me.
Looking forward to meeting new folks and hunting/fishing buddies.
Also looking forward to Knifing my first hog. Here in CA we cant use a knife or spear, we have to shoot them when we catch them. It will also be nice to not have to pay CA for Pig Tags @ $22.17 each. (and it goes up a little bit every year)

No, I dont work for Toyota. I made my decision before Toyota did haha. Just a coincidence that I am moving from Torrance to the Plano area (The Colony, TX)

Nice looking Jagds! If I ever get a dog in that size range, I definitely want some kind of hard charging terrier. I live in Dallas, and am always looking for new outdoor buddies.

I got to do a fair amount of hog dogging in college, and fell in love with it. Since then I've hunted with a few guys from this forum who were kind enough to let me tag along, but now I mostly enjoy reading and learning from the stories and pics.

I just got my first bird dog, an English Springer Spaniel, last December and she did great for me on a couple of quail hunts in west Texas this season. I also have a Doberman I train in Schutzhund which is basically the sport of police dogs.

I've got a buddy who live's in Tyler (2ish hours from DFW) who bow fishes on Lake Palestine. We've talked about trying to do it for gar on the Trinity that runs right through DFW.

I'm also big into fly fishing and "mountain" biking. We've got a surprisingly large trail system in DFW.

Good luck on your move, and welcome to Texas!

The Jagds suit my needs well. They are a lot of dog in a little package.

I'd be willing to get together for some local Bowfishing and Mt.Biking. I'll just have to buy a new bike when I get settled in. I just sold my bike so I have less stuff to move. Sold my Quads, Dune Buggy, and Baja Bug Racecar as well. Debating on selling my Dirtbike before the move. I used to Race Desert, MX, and SuperMoto.
