Life has kept me pretty busy lately but I figured id post and show off my pups.  Recently decided it was time to step away from running dogs for a while for a multitude of reasons and planned this breeding next year to keep a pup or two on the yard after I thinned out the grown dogs, but my old male had other plans.

This is a father/daughter cross, and I have high hopes for these little guys, even though I wont be keeping any (im still going to do it again next year).  The male is old blood out of Flint stock from around Lake City The gyp's mom was out of cow dog stock near Ortona Fl.

Shoulda mentioned, six pups all together, three males three females, with four being natural bobtailed and two of the males being black and tan.

Since ive gotten a couple inquires, right now the pups are all spoken for.  If something changes I will post them for sale.

Great looking litter! My Black and Tans are starting to grow on me, and those look nice.

Yeah he has already picked out the bob tailed black and tan male and a red female, hes not happy we aren't keeping any (though that black and tan bobtailed is the closest  ;)). My plan was to make this breeding next year to keep one or two for him so when he gets older I will have good blood to breed if I want back in. 

If I were in your shoes I would look at the pups closely...and if one stood out I would keep it for a good while and if the pup turns out above average then I would keep it...

Reuben, Ive already seen two that have keep me written all over them.  Im currently tryin to get out of dogs.  I was going to do this breeding next year to keep some stock around if or more than likely when I decide to get back in.

Right now with work, kid, and tryin to get a business started the timing just couldn't be worse.

just don't be to hasty in making that decision because you might regret it...but one does what has to be done...

Reuben, I understand what your saying and I have thought it threw.  I guess what I forgot to post was this, I am keeping the mother, her littermate brother, and the father, no matter what.  Ive got two other gronw dogs I am going to get rid of, as well as these pups.  next year I am going to make this same breeding, with my only desire to keep at least one female out of the litter, so I have something to get started with down the line.  The timing on this litter just isn't right.  I am going to get a gyp out of these two dogs so I will always have this blood.

Do you have any recent pics of your old male and his daughter he bred? Maybe from a recent hunt? Father to daughter is inbreeding, not line breeding. Line breeding would be your old male bred to one of his litter mates off spring. Uncle to cousin. I hope what you keep turns out for you!
