got some pretty good dogs in there shotgun , I like the finley river blood but most are show dogs these days , but I believe the genes are still there to make a dog . the old finley river dogs were track driving , deadly accurate dogs in the 70's and 80's .  the merchants dogs as well .

in fact I am going up to Hardy , Arkansas  on the 24th to pick up a pair of heavy finley river pups on the dame's side and out of a grandson to rat attack on the sire's side . and I wouldn't drive 423 miles on memorial day weekend to get them if I wasn't confident enough in them to make dogs .

like I said most are used in conformation anymore but the genes are still there . I have high hopes that they will make coondogs that can get it done and look good doing it  .

there are a lot of dogs out west used on big game still carrying the finley river breeding and are sought after .

Cool thanks for the info. I knew I had heard of the Finley river line, the sackett line and the lipper line. The lipper dogs are way back and probly not much influence.

Hardy is a Long ride from anywhere in Texas. Lol. I know a girl up that way that raises yella dogs and brahma cattle.

shotgun this has been my favorite web page for researching the walkers , since I had been out of them when my old gyp retired at 13 years of age 1995 . it is loaded with all the old walker dogs info and old stud adds and knowledge   .  you can pull up and look at all the old pictures and lineage for a long time  .  check it out  when you can .  you need to register for it but it is well worth the effort  .

just use the search function at the top of the page and type in the dogs name on your pedigree and you can pull up and see the info and pictures of the dogs .  I love the site as I can trace dogs a long ways with it  .

Thanks I will check it out. I was surprised to see lines that I recognized. I figured they were just all scatter bred.

Sacket dogs are good also. I have seen alot of them that is rough at the tree but overall I like the dogs. The lipper breeding is good but they bred a lot of no count gyps to him. Lipper is out of Clint and I know first hand what kind of hound he was. Like already said Finley River is good boood lin as well

Houser tomtom and houserlipper was a goog line.
Then I hunted the bluetick blood hammer2 hammer8.they had a cold nose
