It seems like nothing I do is working this year. I have one dog that is ate up with ticks. Dog ticks and brown ticks. None of the others seem to have a problem. And fleas aren't a problem at all. Do y'all have any suggestions? At this point I'm bathing and picking ticks once a week and it's not helping. I need something that's gonna kill these daddy didn't marry mommys on contact.

Ultra Shield has been working good for me, for flies also. Just spray them down every couple of weeks... most all feed stores carry it.

X2 on the ultrashield. It kills on contact n last a minimum of 7 days

Just use nexguard not them out by the end of the day

A preventic tick collar will kill them and lasts up to 3 months. Or mixing and spraying apple cider, baking soda and warm water on your dog. Won't smell nice though. I've also been told that feeding a clove of garlic for every 30lbs will repel ticks from biting your dog, not sure how true that is.

I haven't had any luck with nexguard and the collar worked but only for a couple of days and they started showing back up. I'm gonna give the ultra shield a try. I might give the garlic thing a try too. Can't hurt

That's strange nexguard didn't work for ya it works on all my dogs got 14 and my buddy uses it to and he has 10 not a flea or tick one it is cheaper virson of comfortis

I only have the one dog that has a tick problem. The others don't have any. And I don't have any problems with fleas on any of the dogs. Just ticks on the one and so far nothing helps for more than a few days. Nexguard was one of the first things I tried because I heard it was supposed to be one of the best meds for ticks and the ticks would die off and after a few days I started finding em mounded up around his ears and inside his ears. Bunches of little brown ticks that didn't seem to mind the taste of nexguard. Maybe I should've gave it a couple more months or something but I think I've found something that'll work for me thanks to another member.

i use bronco horse spray, i can spray it on and you can watch everything start falling off before i'm done.

I use 25 chickens lol

Lmao I actually have a bunch of chickens running around. I even considered buying some of those stupid guinea fowl cuz they're supposed to be tick eatin fools but it's only the one dog I have issues with so I'm gonna hold off on that.

We are having the same problem but mostly fleas, got ant flea and tick granunuals by home defense in a 10 pound bag at wal mart, treated the yard and bedding areas. I have treated twice and there has been a big difference so far. U jus wet it down and let dry before u let ur dogs back in that area.

Try some pour on ivomec especially around the areas they seem to cluster....also could try injecting some ivomectin under the skin

Have u tried phipronil? (Sp?)

I wouldn't suggest it but I have used commercial farm pesticides to spray my yard. It worked like a champ but I had to move dogs for a couple days. I mixed 3 or 4 pesticides I had sitting around and it was some kind of hot.
