At work at a place called mallard control, which makes and puts together valves, pumps, etc.

Heard what was going on by the radio. We were all like, what???- another plane just hit where???

Crazy day for sure..hope nothing happens this time.

Glad we have people who fight, repair, and defend our country.

I was in my government/economics class my senior year at La Vernia High School.

I was working at the local animal shelter as a Vet Tech/Animal Control Officer

I can remember it like yesterday....I was sitting at my desk when I read on a duck hutning msg board that the WTC was on fire.  I immediately went to FOX news and saw it all happen.  :(

We had consultants all over the country servicing our clients so we immediately went into command center mode trying to find them and make sure they stayed put until we could figure out what was going on.  

I was in Lithonia, Georgia building Stonecrest Mall.  We were getting ready to go into our weekly meeting.  One of the guys wifes worked for CNN. She called as soon as first plane hit. We turned on tv and watched 2nd plane hit.  It was a day I will never forget. 

i woke up walked in my living room and say the second plane hit . i called a buddy and told him a war was starting

I was walking into my government/ economics class to. I was at Fairfield High though. It was kinda strange walking into a government class and seeing what was going on.

On Hwy 59 between Lufkin and Nacogdoches.  Heard it on the radio (105.1)

I just got thru working a night of patrol in Austin....my grandmother called and said that something bad had happened.....I turned on the news and saw the second plane hit.....Few minute later my pager was going off and we were put on mandatory response......I sat in front of the news for the rest of the day waiting to get called in........BURNT IN MY MEMORY!

I was in class at Pickering High School and we just started my second hour class when our teacher came in and cut the tv on, and then we prayed.

I was in the Gulf of Mexico

I was in College at Sam Houston I got out of my first class went back to my dorm and it was all over the news. I remember calling home checking on everyone and then seeing all of our guys in the reserves start gathering up and talking about going to war or going to help. It was crazy, then my next class later on in the day was not canceled like so many others had been, that professor said he would not cancel his class just because something bad had happend. I remember wanting to walk out of his class.


Thank you to everyone who is in the armed forces, police, fire fighters, and any type of first responder. God bless you and your family for what you do for our country.

I had stopped at the local cofee shop and they had the tv on. You could have heard a pin drop all the farmers and rancher that are allways there were not saying a word their eyes glued to the tv. I think every red blooded American will remember that day!

I was sitting in my freshman math class at Falls City High School and when we heard what was going on, class stopped and every tv in the school was on.  We sat, and watched, and prayed.  Thanks to all of the men and women who have fought for our country.

I was on top of a mountain in Conifer Colorado Elk Hunting.  It was muzzleloader season and we were camping.  I knew nothing about it.  That evening as my buddy and I were glassing a field he mentioned the fact that we hadn't seen or heard any airplanes that day.  We both thought it was odd but didn't think twice about it.  We dismissed it and went on about our business.  On the 14th of September we left the mountains and headed home.  We stopped at a gas station and saw a newspaper.  We sat and read the whole thing in disbelief.  My sister lives in New York City and I immediately called her....she was fine but lost two friends that worked in Tower one.  

I now carry a radio with me whenever I'm away from civilization.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!  I greatly appreciate their courage and dedication to keeping America safe.

i was sitting at home feeding my 4 month old baby when my mother called and told me. i didnt leave the tv the rest of the day. thank you to all our troops for what you do.you are the reason we get to do what we love!

I was out there with you completing an oil well for Kerr McGee. We were testing a subsea tree and pretty much shut down when the news passed over the rig.
They radioed me from the ROV shack and said someone just accidentally flew a plan into the WTC but I knew better instantly and said it was a terrorist attack. I watched the second plane hit wile watching the tv in the mud lab.
I will never forget the since of complete helplessness I felt knowing that I couldn't get to my family in Texas.

I was in my gym class my sophmore year watching it.

I was catching a hog.

That's where I would have preferred to be myself. Instead, I was listening to the news on the Radio waiting to get onto Lackland AFB. The lines were so long for the next month or so I had to leave 2 hours early just to get to work on time.

I was on a tank gunnery range in Fort Hood, the first thing we heard was when our Sergeant Major told us that the Pentagon had been bombed, then later we learned about the towers.

i was working at a place called Kent Industries as a machinist. had a radio on the machine and heard about the first plane hitting. we thought it might be some kind of radio show prank(albeit a bad one) or something, then they said the second plane hit. i guess for our generation this is like the kenedy assasination moment. my mom still remembers vividly where she was and what she was doing when she heard the news he had been shot.

i was at school eating lunch when i found out. i looked up and my mom was standing in the hall crying because she couldnt get ahold of my dad who is a pilot. we didnt hear from him for 8 hours. it is still a hard day to think about.

was leaveing for school when the first plane hit watched it for a few mins on tv then was walking out the door and the momma said hold on wait and the second one hit.  Was not griped at for being late to school that day.

myself ,my son ,my son in law was out side  of fresno,ca  rebuilding a power plant that we took down in brownsville  tx  my wife called me and told what was going  on  told me get to leave every thing and get on the road home ..  i remember as it was yesterday  i thought it woud be houston next ...

I was just waking up in my dorm at Midland college Midland Texas . Asked a friend what was going on.

My crew and I were putting in electrical conduits for CPS behind the stage at Sunken Gardens Theater in San Antonio. I went into a little store to get something to drink and a cop and the clerk were watching it on TV when the 2d plane hit. I was at the counter.

When I got back I told the fellow driving my dump truck what was going on and for the rest of the day one or the other of us was listening to the radio. He heard it when the Pentagon got hit and told me.  By the time I got home to a TV the Trade Center buildings had already fell down.

I was in the Army and we were in the doing Training in Germany. We had just come out of the field and were cleaning our gear. A guy ran over to the mud Quarantine area (mad cow) and said someone just crashed a plane into the world trade center.  we sat around a radio and listened to the 2nd and 3rd. Alot of stuff followed after that. our gear went to the coast to be shipped (no Idea where)  and we sent back to Italy but to a different base and lived in a warehouse for a couple of weeks. It was a weird deal.

James (my husband) was off that day. He was watching the morning news while I was cooking breakfast, he said "come look at the tv, a plane just flew into a building in New York!" That was when the first plane hit. I turned the stove off and went in the living room to see what had happened and it wasn't long before the second plane hit the other tower. We sat, glued to the tv all day watching 9-11 unfold in disbelief. I just sat on our couch and cried. We knew that it was the start of a war. It's one day I'll never forget.

I was leaving my dorm at Stephen F. Austin State University when I looked at a group of people watching the big screen down stairs when I seen what had happened. Went to class and the professor canceled it. Who knew 2 years later I would join the army and finally get the chance to serve in Iraq coming this fall after being in for 4 years now......lol.

I would like to say Robert Barrett is my nephew and i am very pround of him and his Brother who just got out of the Army  he spet 2 diffrent terms over sea`s fighting for our country and all I can say is I am pround of both of you boy`s !!!!!!! ;D ;D

Got ready for a college class, walked downstairs, and saw my father staring at the TV with a blank stare.  I asked him what happened, and he said a plane crashed into the WTC.  Couldn't believe it until the second hit.  Was like watching a movie, just couldnt believe it was really happening.
