Title: SKITZER
Post by: daisydog on September 27, 2009, 04:34:36 pm
Skitzer died this after noon due to complications from last weeks hogs. he was the best catch dog ive ever had and would rank w any ive ever hunted with. this year to date we(raider, daisydog) have caught 201 hogs and skitzer was the sole cd on over 100 of them and was involved w over 150. up till 3 weeks ago he had never been cut,we thought he was super man. well last weekend he found his criptonite. it came in the form of a boar that went just shy of 300# and had 3" on one side and 2 1/2 on the other. he caught him by himself and held him so i could safely leg and dispatch the beast. we tried every thing to help him but it was not to be. ive heard people say that cd are a dime a dozen.well not really good ones, and he will be very hard to replace.once again thanks to the people who helped me w him this past week.raider w probably post pics and video later. thanks

I had a personal attachment to Skitzer, many of you may remember a thread that I started titled; "SKITZER Knocked the Lining Out of This One" We caught the biggest hog I have ever seen down on the trinity, He surely would have gotton me, old Skitz fought that hog for 20 mins. without any help. Not a Scratch on either one of us! If you wanna hear a harry story look it up. Im gonna post a few pics of hogs skitzer has caught. The first pic is the last hog Skitzer ever caught and despite him being mortily wounded the little guy never let go. Skitzer "RIP" old boy

I loved that damn dog...Sure gonna miss huntin with him.  He has been through alot of nasty fights with never a scratch on him.  It only took one bad one to put him under for good.  I got a tear runnin down my face writing this out.  When he lived with me he was the kind of dog that would take down a 300 lbs boar on Friday night and then roll around the yard playin with the kids on Saturday.

Miss you already Skitz

RIP Skitzer, Its good to hear that other people are attached to there dogs like I am. I know it hurts and he will never be fogotten. The hardest part is when you bay another big hog like that and in the back of your mind you will be wishing you had Skitzer right there.
Sorry for your loss.
