Title: Yugo vs. Hog Post by: lmc8541 on September 28, 2009, 12:19:47 am Got this one last Wed. night with the Yugo "Sniper". One shot, back of the head with 122 gr. HP. this was one of about 25 that were about 60 yrds from the house. still haven't got the proper scope set up yet, but the red dot was cheap, fast, and efficient. works great for night-time pig work!

Title: Re: Yugo vs. Hog Post by: GenStonewall on May 21, 2010, 11:24:23 pm Can't tell... but is that a Yugo 7.62X39 or X 54R? I have Nagant's and like them a lot. I just use iron sites b/c that's all I can afford. I do have an Ishapore X51 with a scope (.308) I've taken some with at distance. Just curious.

Title: Re: Yugo vs. Hog Post by: lmc8541 on June 02, 2010, 09:47:55 pm yes, a red dot. it has been a progression. it now has a proper Russian POSP 4x24 scope on it.

Title: Re: Yugo vs. Hog Post by: ChrisTicer on August 07, 2010, 10:27:25 pm Nice looking SKS. Always been one of my favorites. Too bad they aren't as cheap or available as they were a few years ago. I would like to have a few more. Hows that scope working for you? I had a scope on a Chinese SKS, and it would never stay sited in. It was mounted like your red dot was. Were did you get that mount in the second pic? I would like to see a close up of it.
Title: Re: Yugo vs. Hog Post by: Amokabs on August 19, 2010, 08:15:50 pm Yeah, i bought my dad a chinese sks with a composite stock,,,,90 $$$!!! when he passed away, I got it back and would like to see the scope mount you've used. yea buddy, remember when you could buy sk's for 90$ all day, ak's for 199$,,,
Title: Re: Yugo vs. Hog Post by: lmc8541 on September 05, 2010, 10:57:41 pm sorry guys for the late response. the SKS was imported with a field expedient rail attached to the receiver from the Bosnian Conflict in 1995. it is designed for the Russian and Yugoslavian scopes from that area. hit is a link to a website with more history on these rare SKS carbines.
http://www.texastradingpost.com/yugosniper/skssniper.html here is the latest incarnation of her. put the drag stock on to make use of the cheek rest. (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/lmc1016/100_0024.jpg) (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/lmc1016/100_0023.jpg) |
