Title: internal drop tank CH-47D Post by: charles on November 25, 2015, 12:45:36 pm the company i work for are trying to expand their reach in firefighting, especially in the northern cali area. this is the first prototype internal drop tank for a chinook. i drove up here for school and work and go thrown right into the mix of things installing, removing and retro fitting and improving this system. it is a 2800gal internal system with a belly drop, external ground fill ports on both #1 and #2 side, along with a hover pump (the orange hose hanging from the side) that pumps 55gal a second. here a few vids of the acft flying with this new system.
