I do have one that I built with 1x6 and it is fine but does flex when I get in there and walk around. They are 5ft wide and 10ft long with a metal roof over them. Lights in them and self watering lickers, food bowls screwed down. Love them, wouldn't have it any other way. No fleas and they cannot get out unless they chew through the welded wire panels, 8ga.
