Title: garmin alpha Post by: Georgia-Hawgs on January 28, 2016, 07:58:27 pm My wife picked me up at work today and was bragging about how she went by irvins (our local hole in the wall hunting supply store) and picked her up a new lead and collar for her hound. I was checking it out and giving her a hard time when she pulled a new alpha out of the back seat. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D....been wanting one since they came out. Can yall tell me some of the good and the bad about them? I know some of yall have had them for quite sometime. How do you like them? Whats yalls favorite features etc etc. And how do they compare to the astro 320 that I use to have. Thank yall. Oh ....did I mention I have one hell of a wife? Lol...

Title: Re: garmin alpha Post by: 7Mhunter on January 28, 2016, 10:14:41 pm Yes sir. You can shock/tone them as long as you have communication with the collar. The collars have beacon lights in them. Also you can take the prongs out if you don't want to use the shock system. The tt15's have the bark detectors in them. You can track tt10's,tt15's,t5's with the alpha.

Title: Re: garmin alpha Post by: justincorbell on January 29, 2016, 11:28:01 am I believe GLONASS is the particular satellite group that the unit uses to connect with the collars but I can't really remember off the top of my head right now.

Is it worth it? glonass is the russian GPS satellite system, the alpha uses both the US satellites and the russian ones thats why its so good in the trees and mountains Title: Re: garmin alpha Post by: liefalwepon on January 30, 2016, 09:58:59 pm Yall ever heard of x maps?
