Thanks y'all. Cracker, the gyp and the dog both belong to friends of mine. I bred them, am going to raise and wean the pups and we'll split the litter 3 ways... there's good dogs behind them for sure.

How is the pancho dog bred? Is he a Winchester tweety bred dog or used as an outcross?

Pancho was a 3/4 cur 1/4 plott, the litter from him and Brandy produced some damn good dogs. He's an outcross, but will be in most of my dogs from here on out.

That is a very impressive pedigree you can tell it was very well thought out. Was the hunter dog and the preacher dogs litter mates?

Thanks Josh. No, Preacherman was out of Obama and a Murry gyp... some local blood around here.

Hunter, Striker, Big Joe, Ruby and Molly were all littermates from Pancho X Brandy. Molly got hit by a car early on and crippled her, but has produced some good dogs over the years bred to various males. I have some 9 month old pups out of her and my Jase dog, who is a littermate to the Lizzie gyp in this post. Hopefully we can cross pups from these two litters one day and see if it's all been worth while haha...

She ended up with 7... 4 males and 3 females.

Thanks Cajun, it's been a tough road... especially after loosing several of the older dogs that I had plans for.

One thing you can do & I wished I had done it on a couple of dogs, Get them collected & then you dont have to worry about them getting killed or lost.

I recommended this for the Obama dog ..

What's the oldest dog you've had collected and still have a successful breeding ?

7 pups...I was getting about that many when I was breeding tight at one time...but it seemed that all pups were making good dogs...I think you are at that point as well...cajun has made some good points...

Once you decide who is the best all around male in heritage, physical atributes as well as hunting ability then it will be well worth the expense of getting said dog collected...

I wish I could have gotten my Hunter dog collected... I sure woukd liked to have bred him a time or two more. I'm curious to see what happens in the future when we start crossing these pups that are 4 or 5 generations down to each other.

Josh, really most all of them. Winchester, Tweety, Obama, Brandy, Spook, Robert's old Momma gyp and my Hunter dog... they were all real good dogs in my opinion. Hunter was my personal favorite.

How was hunter when you lost him? Do you have a picture of him

Yes sir twice, he's the grandsire to the pups in this post and the 9 month old pups we have now. My Jase dog and the Lizzie gyp are out of him. He died right before they were born. I also bred him to a running hound gyp a few years back. My old Si dog from that litter was making a good one until he got ran over one night.

Them highways are the devil on good dogs. That's how I've lost two good ones. I just recently traded in my 320 for the alpha hoping I can get them tone broke to try and help eliminate or at least slow that problem down. Trouble is im having heck figuring that alpha out I almost threw it in the river the other day lol.

You'll love the Alpha when you get it figured out.. I tone break all mine. I lost two dogs on that hunt and was about ready to hang it up. My Boudreaux dog got killed by a good boar he was on by himself. The other dogs had another one bayed and that hog cut Si's garmin collar and broke, severing the antenna wire. Went back to the truck and grabbed my Quick Track and the damn battery was dead! My buddy ran to town and grabbed a battery... by then I was too late. I tracked to him dead on the side of the road.
