Title: Nome tx 1-27-16 quick hunt
Post by: justincorbell on January 27, 2017, 11:16:35 pm
Made a run this evening after work. Toted my slick and buddy dogs and my pup echo. Turned slick and buddy loose on a long road we knew hogs had been crossing, at .63 i decided to ease to em, they were 40yds off the road when i pulled up. I watched em on the garmin and could tell they were piggy. 5 minutes later the woods lit up, slick bayed a BIG wad of hogs, buddy was 100yds away and came in on a string to slick and all i hear was grunting..... as i was going in the woods i saw a big hog cross the road so i stopped figuring they broke and were on him..... then i heard grunting again 30yds away, sent my echo pup to em and eased in and caught a healthy little boar hog, while i was hobbling him slick caught out again on a wattled sow 20yds away. got the boar hobbled and got her tied. Cut the boar and sent him on his way and brought the sow home for a friend. Quick easy hunt, love it when they work out like that! My echo pup is steadily improving, im pretty confident that he will make a dog in time.
