Title: Lost a great one
Post by: TexasHogDogs on May 24, 2017, 06:34:12 pm
I lost my Whitey gyp today 10 yrs old and could still out hunt most half her age.  Found the big boar big big shanks he broke and hit her right there.  She went with him over a mile other dogs to.  The big boar ran them threw more hogs dogs got scattered but not Whitey.  She stayed with his big ass.  Finally he stopped over mile away she held and bayed him till we could get there. The deal is she done it with three broke ribs a puntured lungs and cut guts.  Got her out rushed her to vet he worked on her and said it did not look good.  She died in the back seat of my truck on the way home.  She went out doing what she loved never quit the hog and died doing it.  To me that is as game as it gets!!!!!!!!

Love ya ole Gal .  We will meet again.

She was a great one. Ol girl did not have one ounce of quit in her. Showing out all the way to the end. Worst day of my trip for sure Jimmy. That little female double bred Whitey pup has got big shoes to fill now. She looks like she is going to be built just like Whitey just a slightly different paint job on her.

RIP Whitey

Yeah Rednose a terrible day for sure.  After that happened it kinda took the wind out of me for the rest of the week.  Ole Whitey left no doubt what she was about.  She left it all in the woods.  Gonna miss that ol gal.

My White gyp was off of ole Deets x Blu.  Both dogs i owned.  Deets was from the Legs bloodline and ole Blu was tightly bred down from the old Joe line of dogs.  All these dogs produced great dogs from both sides.  The old Deets dog i owned was a liter brother to Cole McVeys Lankey dog from Bufflao Tx.  Some damn great dogs.  I have a very very tight Joe gyp here on my yard as well as heavy Joe all in my dogs her.  Old Blu was a daughter ofJoe. .  Also I owned Lil Ann a daughter of Joe and Lil ann is the mother to my Horn dog.  Old Blu and Lil Ann where half sisters both off the Joe dog.  Am gonna make a breeding this fall that will have the old Joe dog in there solid solid it will be some if not the tightest around making this breeding for future blood stock but should also make some dang great dogs tight tight Joe with just enuff room for the blood to breath.  Am not a fan of straight up 100 % inbreeding i gotta have that little room so they can make a dog as well as produce their ass off.  The Joe side is the real grit side and a ton of heart all day.  The Deets are Legs side puts long range and knocks the grit back .  i only use a touch of the Legs side to add a little more range  because I like ruffer type medium 400 to 500 yd range dogs hunting out.  Over 500 is to much for the land i have to hint.  The White gyp would go for miles .

One other thing.  Another thing I love about the Joe side.  Those dogs can and will take a licking and keep on ticking.  One thing I will not stand for is a dog that gets his ass whooped are handed to him cut by a hog and comes out thats a no no no.  Its one thing if he are she is hurt very bad and cant but if u cut  and still can you better be in  there with your brothers and sisters.  The Joe side is tuff man.  Ive seen the bad off and never leave the hog the White gyp proved that as well as her mother and others.
