Let's see some pics of that one dog you had that could flat out find a hog no matter where you dropped he/she..also mention what they where bred with

Most people that do this stuff seriously have a dog or two that fall into the can't replace type dog. Every one has a different standard on this to.

This is a dog I called Duke. He's a leopard hound. He was turning it on real good when I got rid of him and the fella that got him really pushes him hard. Which is what I like. The dog is real real rough. If he barks you can bet your boots it's big nasty. I asked the guy to stay in touch with me and let me know how the dog does and it's been several years now and that fella still updates me on Duke. He's really brought out every thing that dog had to offer and I couldn't have asked for that dog to end up in better hands. I've tried to buy that dog back a bunch of times over the years and it just won't happen. But I'm still glad he's in the woods. He is a big ole long legged loud mouth hound that is silent on the track. I knew he'd be a heck of a dog in the right hands for someone that likes a catchy dog. He ain't bay buster catchy either. He's bulldog catchy. Ear and all. Lol...... I'm surprised the dog is still alive to tell you the truth. That old man is covered with war wounds. I didn't know if y'all could see the pic or not. When I try to do it it says to update my account to allow third party hosting....no idea what that means. That dog below him in the box is another leopard hound that he also got from me named ranger. He got him as a pup so I can't take any credit for that one. He made a dog but I didn't have anything to do with it.

Not the best there is, but she's one of the best I've gotten to see go. Has a knack for getting bayed and will flat give it to me any time I put her down. When everything else is broke down, burnt out, and done. She will still be going.

Reuben he was silent and if a hog broke he might bark alittle and then shut up or never say a word it didn't matter there was going to be a hog when he bayed  one them kinda dog that can make a hog when other dogs don't act like there's ever been a hog there

He was a good one for sure, but the couple of times I bred him... the pups were suicidal rough. He thought he was a catch until the age of two, then he learned to back up.

The first one looks like a cat...what about the other two Mike? What are they bred with

hey mike. you can clone that leopard dog and send me a dozen of em,lol.

The black gyp was a catahoula, the brindle male was her grandson... all my dogs are line bred off her and a brindle cur dog.

Once he figured out to back up and bay... he bayed hogs the rest of his life and never hardly got a scratch on him.

I wish I had a dozen of him... he was a helluva dog.

I got him as pup from James Browning out of Warren, Tx back in 2000 or 2001.

Kate got one foot out the door on me right now. She's fighting like hell but idk if she's got anything left in the tank. Gutted, cut liver, and punctured diaphragm little over 2 weeks ago is taking its toll. If she goes now it will be before I have gotten pups and she will surely never be replaced.

Dang slim that sucks. Call ol kory he got some pups out of my Leroy dog and his sister dog that's out of my red. Tell him I said let you have the one I didn't take. He might let you I know it won't replace your Kate but it get you a start hope she recovers for ya

Judge I might have to do that as she passed away this morning. Certainly appreciate the gesture. As much as it sucks I did see it coming, I'm just happy now I know she's not suffering. She had herself a heck of a life. Bayed a lot of hogs in her 6.5-7 years. Time to focus on my pups and make them dogs

Sorry to hear about your gyp Slim. Keep on hunting the hair off them young dogs and something will eventually fill her shoes... I've been there too many times.

This is Ol Eli and Maggie. Lost both of em in January this year. Luckily I bred them last summer and had pups during the fall. Both were jam up hog dogs but I'll have to say Ol Eli could get it done when none of the others could. Both were cat/plott cross. Pups outta them just turned a yr old and we're seeing some real good things in them. They've got some big shoes to fill but gonna just keep feeding em tracks and hope for the best!

I will bet on a cur with a good dash of hound to make a hunting dog over a cow dog any day...they can usually find a hog when the others can't... ;)

My dad got this dog for me 18 years ago, he was the one that got me into hog hunting on my own, he was waaaaayyy more than a hunting dog, he was family first and took his job as our protector very serious, I caught just about every type of critter that roams around here with him, he was straight catch and never once backed down to any hog but would put his paws on a baby deer and hold it down and bay it, I caught several like that with him, he made a name for himself at the local catch competitions back in the early 2000's, I remember getting laughed at for bringing him to the ring to auction off the calcuttas and two men making me, a young teen at the time, the laughing joke, and yelling that this was a catchdog comp and not a baying, at the end of the night when he had placed in the top 3 in 3 different events and that scrawny teen was collecting close to 2k in winnings they had the gumption to want to know if I would sale him, I told them if they could get him off the leash they could have him, needless to say I should've wagered on that as well because the only two people that get him at night was my dad and myself....

I could write a small book on the adventures of that old spotted dog and the journeys and experiences I encountered as a teenager following and chasing him through the woods...

Sounds like a good one goose87...how is he bred?
