Title: Biting flies
Post by: Swine-Stalker on April 03, 2018, 09:37:45 am
Those pesky biting flies are back for the summer. They usually get my light colored dogs ears pretty bad but noticed a few others getting hit and some sores coming up. Has anyone tried using the Python cattle tags? I picked up a box yesterday and plan to try them out this evening... just looking for a few pointers. I read up that they help with flies, fleas, ticks and possible mosquitoes.

I use em ,work great on tics and the ear flies. Cut em in half poke two holes about 1/2 " apart and use a zip tie around collar. 1 tag will do 2 dogs. I read somewhere not to use on lactating ,bread bitches or puppies.  But they do work ,I use the purple.

I use this about once a week or so this time of year, just a light mist all over the body...(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180409/5ac3ba6cf05dd2ffefb330b0a2c06f08.jpg)

I second what goose uses. I use it just like he set. Spray em and when you see a fly land on your dog, time to spray em again. Endure will keep ticks and fleas off me too. And you’ll notice, you may at first, have to spray every 2-3 days, but after  a few weeks of that, you’ll see flys not landing on them until 5 and then 7days after you spray.

instead of poisonous neuro toxins for the same $20 bucks per month I have auto shipped fly raptors once a month from may to september, they work great after a few applications no flies at all FYI

I agree with make em squeal too. Been using FLY PREDATORS for over 5years, and they keep the flies down to almost zero. I spray the dogs with ENDURE mostly for ticks and fleas, but any flys that do make it past the FLY PREDATORS, the ENDURE keeps em off the dogs

My main reason for using it for the mosquito repellent, I’ve looked into biological controls for them and the only ones I’ve found are guppys and mosquito fish and they won’t do me any good...

Ultra Shield works well also... usually lasts a couple of weeks between spraying.
