Title: FEB.1ST HUNT IN THE MARSH WITH CAJUN AND CREW
Post by: The Old Man on February 10, 2022, 09:23:41 pm
Made a trip down to Cajun's to hunt a few days, hunted the first day and we caught 4 hogs one pretty good boar, and then the weather rolled in, rather than wait a day or two to see if we'd get to hunt I came on home. Here is a couple of pictures of the hogs and crew. Three boat loads haha.  Thanks to Mike and his wife for putting me up and the whole crew for the hospitality on the hunt.

Actually Mike Cauley, Charlie Gaines, and Larry Smith hosted this entire crew. Three good fellows that do this every year.

That looks like a real good catch. Ole boar hog had good ivory too. Looks like the weather saved the lives of a bunch of hogs.

The Marsh is definitely different terrain than I am accustomed to, boats are pretty much foreign to me as well, but that combined with the hunt and the people makes a really fun time.  I'd have hunted a couple more days with them if the rain and wind hadn't rolled in and it was supposed to get cold and real windy when the rain quit, but you just can't out guess the weather. When I got home it was sleeting and turned to snow but I got here before the roads got bad.         The morning I left Mike's it was warm and rainy, I hauled 3 of those Bayou Cajun puppies up here for some friends of mine and when I met them about 30 minutes east of here and got out of the truck it was below freezing strong wind and spitting sleet.

That looks like a mighty fine hunt! I don’t get to hunt off of boats too much but it’s a fun change up when we do.
