More Urban,  This was less than 15' from the front door of a house in a residential neighborhood.

(http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp85/cryward/2009pictures1phone054.jpg)   Matt this was at one of the ranchs I hunt this was 2 Barr hogs that did this damage we put my boy in the rutting to show how deap it was they rutted up about 1 acre that night the land owner called me first thing that morning and was mad that was a rye grass field for his first time heifers he told me to come now and get them s.o.b. I got there about 10 o'clock put 2 dogs on the ground we waited about an hour and tried to track the dogs I use a wildlife system and could barely pick them up figured they were about 3 miles from were we put them out at when we got there the 2 barrs were still in there bed that goes to show you how far they traveled that night. beleave it or not I did not cut these hogs one of the hogs had his ears chewed off if my dogs would have done that I would have whipped there a## I do not put up with one chewing a hog up.But thought it was interesting how far they traveled in one night.

Good pics guys, lets keep it going.  Paul or Krystal mentioned this the other day and I thought it was a good idea.  Hope we can get some pictures of damage from all over the state and show people how destructive they can be with one thread.
Thanks,
Matt

Here's some of that real deep rooting we found in Hegar's pasture in Navasota.

Here's one from Kent county. Not sure why, but under the feeder is where I would think the rooting would be, not here.
Many of these are larger than a standard bathtub.
That trail cam in the photo sits on a 4X8 in. timber, about 5 feet from the ground.

Another angle. Some of these are 3 feet deep and 8 to 10 feet long.

Cody I would give anything to have the pics of the damage at our lease in Kent Co.  One spring they decided they liked the roots under these elm looking trees that had trunks nearly 10-12" in diameter to give you an idea of the tree size.  The hogs rooted completely under the root ball!!  We are talking an area nearly 20' in diameter and 4'-6' deep.  I have never seen rooting like it before or since.  The trees subsequetly died and some we were able to push the dirt back in the hole and save.  We have seen killed some absolute monster hogs in your part of the world, several that would easily go over the 400lbs mark.

I've seen that as well, and am looking for those pictures. Seems I can never find the ones I'm looking for on this computer. :-[

We don't have the numbers of hogs ya'll do, quite yet, but the ones we do have are sure nice.
Although, seems like the last 8 or 10 have been smaller this winter.
Once summer hits, if we can sit on the water holes, I know the bruisers will be there.
Kind of like in the Serengheti, 10 or 15 miles between water holes sure pulls the critters in. ;D

not rooting, but I'm sure most people wouldn't want trees messed up like this...

This was taken in a residential area Bedias/H-ville area, in his front yard where he feeds and watches the deer, I went out there today to set a trap, he's on 18 acres, hog signs everywhere, but this he said wasn't there at 830 this morning, it was done right before I got there, this guy is big, looked as if a calf had walked around there, hopefully I'll get him soon, and maybe I can get the deal to go through with the surrounding farmers and run dogs.

Here is a place we hunt in Jonesboro. Hamilton County.
Under the Jonesboro bridge Hwy 36.

One day I will get on the bridge and take pictures so you can see the whole field.

Oat field.
What it is suppose to look like, this is in places hogs haven't got to yet.

Same field, same time, but his is where hogs have got to:

This is in the brush by the river at the edge of the oat field.
A hog bed.

I had to post this one to show what that area looks like everywhere else around
so you can see what the hog torn down.

Here's a pic of some hog damage next to a ranch road. This ranch is located just South of Post, TX. It's caprock country and very arid. But, the hogs really like rooting up the grassy area's next to this road. Some of the holes were as large as the atv's. I've killed several large hogs off of this ranch.

I have been looking for this picture..I am Sloowww but here is pic of a Utility Pole in middle of pasture land, just to show that the hogs cost us extra money in utilities (pole that carry electricity) , not something you think of every day of hogs causing destruction

This is a picture I took near Dewees, Tx while hunting on invite with the San Antonio Fire Fighters Pig Posse! 06-07

I found this to be interesting.  The main photo in this ad was taken at the same place that hogs were damaging the back yard. 15' behind the hot tub and pool is where this damage is...

Burleson County-June 2009.

This knockdown is about 1 acre in size, and at $400/acre cost of getting the corn to this stage, it adds up pretty quick.  Most of the damage was done about 10-12 days previous to the picture taking.  The hogs had been hitting the field for ~3 nights before we found them to be in the corn, and did most of this damage during that time.

We hunted the field the first time and got 3 hogs out of a bunch and scattered the rest.  We went back today and the big group of hogs had not been back......we had to hunt for a few hours before we found a boar hog which ended up as a race and the hog smoked us but the dogs atleast got his blood pressure up.  It was just too dang hot and the dogs were worn out by the time we go on the hog and they were totoaly sapped after the race.  So we went home with a promise......that hog better find some different territory before it gets cool because he owes us for some corn, and he can't hide from Paris.

Got a call from my old boss who is a head greenskeeper at a local golf course in Burkburnett, TX  told me hogs finally crossed the line and started rootin up the course. It was too muddy to go get my trap today so my dad and I went out there and played golf and looked at the damage, they tore up one of the tee boxes pretty good and alot down the cart paths. I'm putting a trap out there this week sometime and I'm hoping to convince him to let me run the dogs on there too ;D...the red river is only about 800 yards behind the tree line in that first pic ;D

Sorry for the terrible pictures, camera phone rolleyes

Good post Circle C!!! Ya'll should keep the pics coming! I grabbed some of these to show hog damage on our website. This is good stuff to show people the damage these animals cause, that we really do care, and that we want to help the people that need it.
