Title: Homemade hobbles
Post by: Rooster79 on April 11, 2013, 06:25:06 am
I decided to take a break from whip making last night and try to make a set of hobbles. I have never used hobbles, always tied, so I didn't have anything to copy from just pics of the web. I had 800 feet of hot pink parachute cord sitting in closet collecting dust so used it. Hobble is 5 strand flat braid with slip knot, ring and snap. Easy, cheap, and quick to make. I guess it will work, what you think?(http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o760/47royboy/E7DA10F8-684D-4F78-8B0D-B89AD8387EC7-3584-000009A5CB6DBFF8_zpsb7af2baf.jpg)

Thanks fellas, I figured if you know how to tie a slip knot then these can easily be adjusted to fit anything from a good hog down to a little piggy.

Might be kinda embarassing for a big bad boarhog to be hobbled in pink.

Got a 1000 ft spool of orange and made a few more. No more pink. Hopefully get to try them out soon. I'm sure I could make them cow size with bigger hardware

You braid paracord whips? Can you load em with bead cord? I'd like to see some if you've got any pics and maybe order one from you. My daughter is pretty talented with my 6 foot already but I'd love to have her a 4'er made.

I load them with bbs. Never built a 4 but don't see why I couldn't (http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o760/47royboy/E68C4CDA-366A-4692-AEF3-6CF35FD3710B-4918-00000CD75DD8AAD5_zps1f648620.jpg)(http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o760/47royboy/3CCCA455-0FDD-40EC-AC99-1C6BDBC1C04D-4918-00000CD73A4CCAD4_zpsfea7636c.jpg)(http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o760/47royboy/9846C329-FDDE-495E-9F15-1FCBC5F6110F-4918-00000CD719E9F4FC_zpsc9c6da39.jpg)(http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o760/47royboy/723C5D4C-AC42-4A7B-A101-4C3B350B2C6C-4918-00000CD6FEC29667_zps74dd46f4.jpg)
