Title: VALBAZEN / IVOMEC MIXTURE ??
Post by: Georgia-Hawgs on February 19, 2015, 06:57:52 pm
. Okay yall. I am about to order some valbazen off line. I want to mix it with ivomec. But i want to make sure im getting the right stuff. This is called valbazen drench i believe. Although its called drench it says its an oral wormer. Is this the right stuff? Its in a 500 ml bottle. Also is 15 to 20 cc about the right amount of ivomec to mix into it.? I have been reading through the thread on here about this mix but couldnt find out if there was more than one kind of valbazen or not. Thank yall !

Only ever heard of 1 type of oral valbazin, but if there is, check the % of the primary active ingrediant and refrence that to the valbazen that doesnt say drench. If they r the same, then use it.
How many dogs are you worming for a year? Tally all their weights together and compute .1cc ivemec per 10lbs of dog weight. Do the same for the valbazen as for the ivemec.

Thanks man. I have read several things from different websites saying to mix anywhere from 10-22 cc of ivomec to the 500ml bottle of valbazen and its a very good broad spectrum wormer and heartworm prevention. I can ask the folks at the vet but i have to catch the right one. The rest of them wont talk to me about using products for "off label reasons" lol..they want the money.

Your best bet is to give the valbazen and ivomec separately... they don't mix well.

I do the same in giving separate, but didn't know they don't mix well. I give separate bc that's what a lot of yaw say, give different workers at different intervals to help id which wormer may be causing, if any, any adverse reactions.

Thats exactly what the bottle looks like. It don't say drench on the bottle. Just in the description. On ebay i just typed in valbazen and its the 1st one thats on the screen. 55$ and free shipping for the 500ml bottle.

I do. My feed store was 75$ though..lol. i swear that old man just puts a price on it without doing any math whatsoever..some of his stuff is dirt cheap and some is way out of line..lol..i went to look for some wrenches the other day and im ashamed to say what i paid for em.. but on the other hand i feed diamond extreme athlete to my dogs and its 30$ a bag after tax. I really like that feed and thats the cheapest ive found it from anybody.

i like small town living and don't mind paying the higher price bc i know its going to a locally owned store, but it don't like sound like u live in a small town, but more like a community where the doc is the vet and dentist, the hay barn doubles as the grocery store and the gas station still uses them ole glass top fill gravity pumps.  ;D

I have to give that old man credit though. I believe he is getting a touch of Alzheimer's (spelling).. lol..he always tells me i can hunt his property and every time i go in there i have to remind him of it. I took some light bulbs to him that come out of my kitchen to see if he could find some. That was 7 or 8 months ago and now he dosnt remember the bulbs and asked if i could bring him another one...haha..real good guy though.  Always has a GIANT cigar sticking out of his mouth and gripes about the folks that complain about the smoke in the store..haha..

It's his store and if them folks don't like it, they can leave or not come in at all. I hate the smell of a stogy, and not much for the smell of cigarettes anymore since I quite smoking. But I'll be damned if I'll tell a smoker to put it out or move away from me or not to light up at all. If I don't like it, I can move up wind

That's the truth Charles! Heck, on the few occasions that I run across a lil cigarette smoke, I find I kinda miss it,,, reminds me of being a kid when all the folks I cared for smoked.  I figure if it's legal, leave folks alone,

I agree fellas. I remember when we use to go out to eat as a kid and the person would ask "smoking or non-smoking".  I don't think its right that they ban smoking in public establishments . Like bars, resturants, etc. I think if i spend my hard earned money on opening up a place i should be allowed to let folks smoke inside if i want to. I could understand a law saying that it must be clearly posted that this is a smoking establishment. That way the person can decide for themselves if they want to go there or not.

Just heard a radio commercial for smoke free oregon. The add had dogs n cats and livestock all making noise bout not smoking and polluting the wildlife habitat with cig butts. Where is a dog, cat, horse or cow considered wildlife? Stupid tree huggers dont know the dif between wildlife and domestic animals.

I gave a tree a hug yesterday! It was small enough that i could wrap my arms around and make it go the other way when it started to fall in the wrong direction from the wrath of the husqvarna !
