Title: Big pig
Post by: Nannyslayer on March 11, 2015, 10:31:29 pm
Just a random picture from the web. Short story with it, not sure how believable it is, but said this Australian farmer had dogs come up missing and knew there was a large predator around. Found this pig and killed it with a .375. Either way, it's a big pig with some big cutters.

the two largest hogs I have ever seen were red hogs. one was a domestic hog and he must of weighed 7 or 8 hundred pounds...the other one looked quite a bit like the one hanging and about that size and I figured he weighed over 7 hundred pounds...when he came running out of that maize field he was running in a crouched position because it seemed that he knew he was too tall to run in a normal manner...it was almost unbelievable what I had seen...luckily I was able to verify what I saw because he crossed an area that was muddy on his way out...his track was about the size of an 8 hundred pound steer...this was way back in the late 1980's or early 1990's...this happened somewhere between Tiboli and the Conner ranch South of Victoria...all other wild hogs we have caught and seen over the years have been less than 400 pounds and usually a big hog is going to be around 335 pounds...and those don't get caught that often...
