I've heard both ways on it... some like it and some don't.  I may try it if it's any cheaper than Sportsmix, but I've tried several over the years and always come back to Sportsmix. Been feeding it over 15 years now and my dogs do fine on it.

You have to judge each dog individually... I have small dogs that eat like a horse and big dogs that eat like birds haha. I use a 12 ounce coffee cup... I feed 2 to 4 cups per dog. In the winter months I usually bump it up a cup or two.

Like Mike said it varies per dog...in the summer I feed sportsmix blue  bag 18 percent fat and 26 percent protein...

In cold weather I feed sportsmix black bag...20 percent fat and 24 percent protein to better maintain the dogs weight...

I fed it for a long time and loved it, I was turned on to it by some hardcore deer and coyote hunters and their dogs looked good, I started ordering a ton at a time and got 3 bad tons in a row, each time the feed was really really dry and my dogs fell off fast and when your ordering that much a month and selling some on top of it and have folks to answer to it'll make you swap up, I was in contact with the QC manager for specialty feeds and the problem has since been fixed, it's a good feed and for the price can't be beat...

I've been feeding the V/P 24/20 for close to 2 years. I do believe there are better feeds out there tho. In the winter when I am hunting hard I really have to bump up their feed. Their stool during the 1st week of feeding is pretty loose & once they are used to it, I have some dogs with a firm stool & some with a not so firm stool. I buy it by the ton & it is very reasonable at 19.50 a bag.
