first one I've had in over thirty years. I bred a gyp to Big cutters dog and he carries blue genes. My female must carry them too as it is a recessice gene. I guess I need to resize those pics. I dont know what I did different but they came out way to big.

Y’all got some dang good looking young dogs and pups coming up for sure.

Muddy- the two in the first two pics is littermates.
Sire was  1/2 Parker 1/4 catahoula 1/8 plott 1/8 bmc
Dam was full catahoula.    It was a grandson to grandma cross
The dam died about 2 weeks after she had them and my mother in law  raised these two in her house on a bottle. Only two that survived.

The one on chain is off a male I own name Gator. Gator is 1/2 Melman bred  1/2 stock bred.  The dam to pup is a running walker female.

The pups in the pen are off Gator and the littermate Gyp to the sire to the two in the top pens.

Along with Crackers bulldog and Chico and Chicos daddy ,we have two females that we will tried proven and then breed- these females are pups now - but are off great stock as well- these bulldogs should be hard mouth ear dogs that don’t fight with other dogs - just good Ol bulldogs - we are shooting for 45-60 lb dogs 60 being the most for sure - 50 to 53 in good hunting shape is what we really going for - it will take us a little time but we pretty certain this is a achievable program for Chico and his older brother is this description and their dad is a proven producer of this..
We are real excited about this program
Here is one of the females that will be in program

I really enjoy looking at all these young dogs good thread Rbz everyone's future looks bright with all these fine young animals.

Rbz Copper is a result of Hambone bred to a yella bitch I used to own just some stock bred cur dogs both are quality hog dogs and I have pretty high expectations for him.

Muddy explained whats going on with the Bulldog program. We're basically doing the same thing with them as I'm doing with these Cur dog's we're taking a few like dog's from different line bred catchdog families and crossing them. Here's a few pics of the dog's behind them.Like Muddy said Chico and Dozer are Brother's from a repeat breeding I did and we recently got two female pups from very similar lines we're hoping to incorporate.

The first Two Pics are the Grandad,Great Grandmother and Great Aunt,Third pic is Red ,Dozer and Chicos Daddy, fourth pic is Flea their momma and fifth pic is Dozer Chico's brother.

Not trying to highjack this thread just giving a little history on these bulldogs we pretty excited about.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191031/ffbd6f0565c3621df84169b6db2fa263.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191031/8b176c7251737309719e0d5c61d232f7.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191031/b711706fe800395fbfa3922aa04454f8.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191031/b3179184328cff030191e158ad00fd63.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191031/d4e053d2fd51239831bfccedd7e2d879.jpg)

She is smaller dark dog getting a little more intense (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191101/cd88f20934c62f1ee89e516f8b8b733a.jpg)  https://vimeo.com/370225218 (https://vimeo.com/370225218)
Radar  https://vimeo.com/370111385 (https://vimeo.com/370111385) both have shown they have it in them. Both have minimal experience. Going to put them to work come February. Will work on the little things until then

He does alright, a little funny at times but has bayed a good many hogs.. I can only speak for him I’ve never hunted with any others but heard good things as well.  I have his dam that’s full that I plan to cross back to.   Here he is.

Two pups I got from Justin Corbell, littermates. Some well bred East Texas blood, I won’t go too much in to the details on the line because Justin can answer any questions far better than I can. Really excited to start these two (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191111/0bfc1bc9be2acce4594949548b2581c5.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191111/996e52878c9a6282d4d1bf4041fe37c9.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191111/e0c8c4b2e783f41a1e669afa98868e74.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191111/38c7d7ad4dd5454ece8c85cb42e15ca5.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191111/24e3ec283b991e81b4984972b3d803e6.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191111/b8b4c659c281d878757f036c02caf5cc.jpg)

Gonna try this again, I posted here a few days ago but it looks like my post is gone. My two prospects right now came from Justin Corbell’s yard. Me and my buddy made a trip from SC down to East Texas to pick these two pups up. When I first got them I sprinkled out small bits of hog meat and let them find them. A few months ago I got a pig and put it in the pen with them to try and let them have some exposure. I messed up. The pig was bigger than it was supposed to be when I got it, but figured I’d try it anyways. It was too much for them and shook them up. So I’ve taken a step back and now I’m just letting them mature and not really messing with them so that I can build their confidence back. I’m hoping to get a really small pig soon to let them dominate it to rebuild their confidence. My dogs are short ranged because I walk hunt, I’m hoping to do more casting with these dogs if they prove out, so I don’t want to start them with my other dogs and end up teaching them to stay close. As far as the breeding goes, I’ll let Justin answer any questions because he’s obviously much more knowledgeable than me on their back ground. But the father is his Willie dog, heavy line bred BMC. The mother is his Sissy dog, 1/2 bird dog 1/2 BMC. Both parents are jam up dogs.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191112/c5031c28c623097e17726b5b4c19a4b0.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191112/1ae1ba53adcf933e33535b00e9bf99a8.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191112/371ac9de10b31b130b132fdf1338940e.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191112/fa516ba0fed55ad7a042792eb5f6c387.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191112/d0290b3309efb03e55a9bef0d5b5ee66.jpg)

I would guess she's going to be upwards of 55-60lbs with plenty of lung and athleticism the dogs in her pedigree are as good as they get in my opinion. She's extremely intelligent she listens and acts like a grown dog at 4- 5 months.Pic of Sire I do not own either parent we purchased her.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191201/6e98ea96cc53658f39938408bda64e2f.jpg)

NLAhunter they look like they liked it. Good luck.

Mike he definitely is a looker and Chris is lucky guy for sure. Just think, she gets to tell him what to do at home AND in the woods lol. I'm just picking of course. It sure is easier when your other half understands your passion.

The boys and I went to the football field the other day and worked on some football and baseball drills. Took "11" with us just to socialize and work on his patience, and lead manners. He did real good. He could've jerked my youngest off his feet, he outweighs him by about 3 or 4 pounds. 11 is at about 83 to 85 pounds now. Yard dogs would run to the fences or from around their house raising cane and he would look and pay attention but all Slayde had to say was leave it and he'd forget about it. One little dog cracked us up. I guess he heard us and came blowing around front of the house with his hackles up and in kill mode. As soon as he saw 11 he never broke stride, just made a U turn and hauled butt back around back and barked looking around the corner. Kind of an oh sh#$ moment. He's starting to look like a dog now. Just started hiking his leg.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191203/702fb18a6d7d790709dad37ff7cd98e7.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191203/a5e301f84ebbe6868523322e8c62bb8c.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191203/4c9ec105a6a19c050eff60b698da52ab.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191203/590e36d58fae9106125489c54a769198.jpg)

Thank y’all. For the sharp eyed, there’s another, less sociable pup growling from the back of that doghouse.
These pups are actually some sort of deer chasing mutts from an elderly relative and I don’t know much about them but He asked that I give them a chance. My old brood bitch hasn’t come in heat in over a year and I’m not ready to breed anything else of mine right now so what the heck, why not.

cracker, I’ve had a couple here and there, I’ve mostly kept a bunch of yellow Woodruff dogs though, it’s 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. All the strains of cur dogs are all so related, I just figure they’re all just family Curs anyway

Very nice looking dogs cajun. All the pics didn't download for me but it could be because I'm on my phone. That Tex pup looks like he should have plenty of wind. I like that build. I have a question. Obviously Steel is a throw back. Do you see a difference in the throw backs in any way? For instance my dad had a family of game chickens that were pumpkin colored. Some came lighter, some darker, some with white in them, and now and then solid white. The solid white ones were wild natured, like pheasant wild. I've known other families that would produce throw backs and sometimes there was only the visual difference and other times while they were good as well, were a different style performance wise. Just curious, but again, real fine looking dogs.

t-dog, maltese brindles like Steel have pretty much always been in the Plott breed. Depending on the strain there is quite a few of them around. It is a dilute gene attached to the black.

Do the maltese or the buckskin colored dogs work differently? I guess like do they tend be rougher or faster or vise versus or re they just plotts in a different color wrapper? I like the color myself. Steel looks quick and explosive. He doesn't appear to be as lanky as the others but that could be the way he's bred and nothing to do with color.

They are just Plotts of a different color, and there has been much debate on the "solid color issue" through the years. They "UKC" is just now going to accept solid colored Plotts. The Buckskin has been a battle since the forty's even though the original Plott standard drawn up by old breeders of much notoriety allowed for solid black and an occasional buckskin. Prior to 1/1/20 UKC registered Plotts had to have brindle on them somewhere to meet the standard.

Thanks old man, those kinda things have always interested me. I think they are doing the breed a favor by allowing those other colors to be registered. Sometimes a color I an indicator. The blue gene in the APBT was a prime example. Back in the day, if a person got a blue pup in a litter, it was culled immediately. Those dogs were inferior in every way, from performance to health. It got the point where that color gene was nearly obsolete. The modern blue pitbull isn't the same. Neo Mastiff was bred in to get the color. I know there have to be standards, that's a given, but you can't exclude things just because it isn't "your preference" if it isn't a detriment like the blue in the pits of old. Breeding for color has hurt and even ruined more than one breed.

You hit on a couple of points, the side of the debate that were opposed to the buckskin Plotts felt like it indicated Redbone. Someone may have put Redbone in them but not all buckskins are part redbone, they had always been part of the breed. And I have heard of solid blue dogs in the breed having some health issues.
Back when all this disagreement came up there was a Plott "promoter" that opposed the buckskins because of the aforementioned reason but wanted "and eventually got" the UKC/NPHA standard changed for size and earspread as well, so he could promote some bloodhound crossed dogs, he wanted a bigger, longer eared, bawl mouthed Plott, when in fact lots of the old Plott people had always called them Plott Curs they weren't as a rule big houndy bawl mouthed dogs.
My own belief is that far enough back they probably had a  little of everything in them that had ever ran loose in the NC and Tenn. mountains, but there was a select group of people that bred and selected for "bear dogs that excelled on bear", with one another that certain traits were solidified and thus the "breed" was born.
I believe the wide spread Plott history to be incorrect in part, but there were documented outcrosses as well before the registration began. Quite a few years ago the APA got with AKC and reinstated the original Plott breed standard and AKC went back to the "original" size and color standard. NPHA/UKC is the one now changing back to the old color standard but the size with them is not changing back.
There's a short version of a battle that has lasted for generations within the breed and will probably continue for many years to come haha.

I have always called them Plott Dogs because to me they are not a hound nor a Cur. When asked to describe them to someone unfamiliar to the breed I tell them they are typically like a cold nosed open trailing Cur dog, a mix of the normal Hound/Cur traits.

That's pretty much been my understanding of the plott dogs. I was was always taught the origin of the plott to be the same as your belief.  I have hunted with quite a few pure plotts and a bunch of plott crosses. I knew the other colors were out there but never hunted with anything but the regular brindle colored dogs so I was curious. Thanks for sharing with us.

Tdog, Maltese, Buckskin, brindle, it has no bearing on their ability. It is just a color, just like Labs, black, chocolate or yellow, they are still labs. Steel is a little fat in that pic. lol He is a pretty nice dog with nose and a ton of grit. He is on injured reserve right now along with a couple of others from last week. Today we got Hillbilly, Hank and Showtime all tore up with Hillbilly getting it the worse. He was leaking air and my hunt was over for the day. We caught the boar but I headed home to patch them up. Other guys had a heck of a hunt catching about 7 more.
