Post by: Reuben on May 16, 2020, 07:44:03 pm
Who has the best prices on refurbished TT15 collars?

Garmin is up to $150 on repairs I think but still cheaper than paying $225-259 for a refurb from outdoor dog supply or Double U

They just upped their price list to my knowledge. As much as I’d like to sell my stuff and tell Garmin to get bent, I just can’t seem to make the switch. Plenty of comparable systems these days, only downfall imo is most go through your phone

I’m with you slim, I just refuse to have a system that doesn’t have a handheld similar to the garmin. My iPhone 6S is a lot more fragile than my alpha, and not waterproof. I also care a lot more about having my phone screen dirty and scratched up from going through mud and briars compared to the garmin

Well...there is no doubt about it I really like the alpha with TT15 collars...it is a tough system...only drawback is they can be broken with catchy strike dogs...

I’ve got to the point I don’t use radio collars anymore as insurance on account the Garmin Alpha is pretty reliable day in and day out...

There are some nylon- padded and also some aluminum covers for the tt15's used on running catchdogs, if you have had that kind of trouble it may be worth looking into for you. They have no effect on the tracking capabilities.

I saw a company overseas was making a housing that went completely around the tt15. Either out of a hard plastic or aluminum I can’t remember. Said it didn’t affect the signal none. Company was in Australia I believe. Heard from a guy that they was tuff as hell.
