My black lab bred my tree walker hound & she had 7 pups..it wasn't a planned breeding but I'm not mad about it cause they both hunt good & I've caught some good hogs behind both of them. .should make some good dogs, we'll have to wait & see how they turn out. .

The labs I run can keep up with the curs & hold their own. .I've caught a lot of hogs behind those 2 boys..just like any lab though, they will find some water & cool down when the get the opportunity to. .These 2 have been hunting hogs since they were pups, around 5 or 6 months old so they're in good condition & use to the long runs and hunting for 8 to 12 hrs..I have seen other labs try it & fall out after a few hrs, an hour the most in the summer..they love trashing hogs though & do every chance they get..

That was a long wait but glad they stuck with her..it was worth the wait..glad to see the cur pup helping out when she came back to our side, he's getting better as he grows but still won't get in that river just like his daddy. .

Yes sir..even the towns name has changed somewhat, use to be Dewalt & is now Sugarland in some parts & Missouri City in others. .now & days only the old timers call it Dewalt, yeah I'm an old timer, hints the handle..I lost my phone about 4 yrs ago that had some pictures of some big ones I pulled out of there a while back & some pictures of us tying hogs right on the edges of that old hole..those were the good old days when I could go in there see 3 or bobcats on the way to the hole & still catch 3 hogs when I got to the hole, only had 5 dogs with me back then & 2 were catch dogs. .izz got to see some of the pictures & might still have 1 or 2 saved on his phone. .

Well its been used for a good while..I've lived on the property for most of my life, 34 yrs now..I've caught some big ones outta that old hole, boars & sows..I've seen everything in that hole that you can imagine, from hogs to cats, to cattle & horses, even a peacock or 2..that hole is only about 60yrds from the river so over the years the hogs have gotten to where they hit that river bottom quick so it's drying out now..When the bank of the river was a lot further it use to stay loaded with hogs but over the yrs erosion took the bank away & they don't stay in there like they use to. .

Had a good time. .dogs worked their butts off..wish we coulda got that last one that me & Aaron heard..it was crazy how he gave us the slip, we'll get him one day tho..

Sure was nice to see the dogs working hard..ol Gary was on fire that day..When we got back to the ranch he still went & caught another 1 less than 10 minutes. .I can only imagine how it would've been if we woulda took the black lab..

I'm 38 now & lived there since I was 7..my family still lives there at the sand pit & that land use to b schindler ranch..they use to own all that land up to sienna & run cows on part of sienna..I also have family that work for sienna Plantation ranch..its all private property now..my wife still works over there at dewaltcruz sand pit..izzy is my buddy's handle..

thanks...trying to get a head count in my area,  might be able to meet some folks to hunt with around me and see some different dogs and styles..if you're in this area let me know, I don't need spots I got those and will trade a hunt for a hunt..
