1  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: to much hunt? on: November 11, 2015, 07:34:54 pm
Get a dog in you pack such as that and he makes your buddies dogs look like crap.  They stop coming out with you to hunt because the entire hunt is centered around that dog,  your buddies dogs are on the back of the buggy and your trying to get those dogs close enough to the one dog that can't get his hog shut down but here and there.   Your buddy gets tired of his dogs becoming help dogs and also gets tired of staying out so late and putting in so much effort for 1 pig or to retrieve 1 dog.
Other things I've seen happen that a dog like this wrecks is a time limite on the hunt.    Wife wants to go hunting but has to be back at the truck by such and such time cause the young kids get off the school bus at 4:30 and no one is home yet.    Only way you can get your dog is to get the catch dogs to him and catch the pig then dive in to catch the dog before he goes for another.     Really perturbs the wife lol.      Sometimes it works out and sometimes you got to walk the catch dogs back out, go home, drop the wife off and go back.           Them kinda dogs really make life interesting and are very fun to hunt behind for some and not so much for other people.

Black Streak..... You ain't referring to my ole' black dog wrecking hunts are ya??

5 YO finished Catahoula gyp. Rides the hood or buggy. Short range and rough! If on the ground pretty much just a help dog.  I thought I needed a hood dog paid 1500$ for her and hardly ever rig my dogs. I've had her on 40 plus hogs in the year I owned her. My loss is your gain 750$. Call or text 580-799-2628. Don't check email mroberts@redbonellc.com.  I travel back and forth from Graham TX to Elk City OK.
3  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / 3 yr old male Parker Cur-Strike/Help Dog on: April 25, 2014, 01:58:09 pm
I bought him as a 2 yr old, had him on close to 30 hogs in the woods. He stuck 8 or 10 of these on his own. He's med to long range depends on how much he is hunted. He needs to be hunted ALOT to keep the edge knocked off. That's the reason for selling. I might hunt twice a month on a good month, and with summer coming on hunting will be slim. I paid 700$ for him and that's what I'm asking. montyroberts@att.net rarely check! Call or text 940-393-2545 for more details.
Located in Graham tx. Thanks

5  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / 1/4 BMC 1/4 Kemmer 1/2 blue tick heavily started gyp! on: June 19, 2013, 06:09:55 pm
Approx 1-1/2 yrs old.  Started well in the woods, I've had her on 10 or so since I have owned her.  Short to medium range, hunts out good stays with the other dogs.  Has never found her own hog but she should with time. She is not trash broke. I have had her bump a deer but haven't had a chance to start breaking her. Reason for selling is she has started barking on track and if a hog breaks she opens. I only hunt silent dogs! Fairly rough will help catch with the catch dogs. If you don't mind open dogs this gyp should be a good one for cheap! Asking 150$ or trade for for a heavy started silent dog. Dog is located in graham tx. Call or text 940-393-2545. Montyroberts@att.net I rarely check e-mail.  Thanks
