Adrian, Jeff and myself went out to make a quick hunt last night. We hunted for awhile with my walker (Lil Bill)  in training mode. He decided he wanted to chase deer so I had to use the shock system. Hunted awhile longer and they got a group lined out. We ended up in head high blood weeds. Adrian took his ab named Zeus and got him caught. It was a good hunt for the young dogs.

 Had a buddy call and he wanted to take a couple of brothers on their first hunt. A concerned citizen called and said she had seen a large group of hogs cross the county road earlier in the evening so we dumped the dogs there first. Adrian and my brother must to have fed Woody and Lulu some high protein chicken feed because they chased the group about 20min before Woody finally got one of them to stop. We send a little help and wind up with a split bay. Adrian and I catch one and Jeff takes the bulldog and catches the other one. The boys got to stab their 1st hog and were pumped.

After we got those killed we kicked the dogs out again. They hit a track but didn’t really get anything lined out so we went to pick them up. When we get there Chad’s Boog dog goes out about 400yds and bays. We sent him some help and cut a couple cds in and the boys got to stick a good boar.

Adrian, I will cut you a deal on the stud fee to Wild Bill if you want to breed him to your lacy gyp. Maybe it will put a little grit in your pack.

 Chance and I wanted to hunt with our buddies the other night but Adrian kicked us out just because our dogs are a little open on the track. So we dumped an old McPherson hound best known as the silent assassin (Frosty) with Chance’s blue tick (Dan) and my walker (Wild Bill). They hit this boar and took him about half a mile and he bayed up in a creek. We sent a couple cds in and got him killed. Our buddies dogs show up at the bay as we all were hunting the same ranch so we had a little discussion on who’s dogs actually got him stopped. Adrian is still saying that his lacy (Woody) got him shut down.

So Chance and I call it a night and head to the truck. As soon as I get home they send me the pic of this spotted boar they caught. He had bigger teeth but he probably wasn’t near as rough as the one the hounds had to stop.

The sire was the big brown and white dog named Percival. I'm not sure about the dam. I've had my female for 4yrs and couldn't be more pleased. It was a lot of money to spend on a catch dog but I'm glad I did. She is semi retired now.

The dogs on the flatbed are brothers. My old blue heeler found my grandpa's redbone. The American bulldog in the red vest I bought from Cornerstone bulldogs when she was a pup. I bred her to a catahoula and that's is her pup on the ground.

 My brother’s curs and Ole Woody struck the first boar in a draw about 200yds behind a tank. We send my two rough dogs and Mad Max to them and they miss him. They finally get him stopped in the tank so my brother and I got to go swimming and get the boar and dogs.

They went again the next night and the dogs worked a track real well. It took them a while to get him lined out but they finally got him bayed. They were able to drive to the bay and see that he was in a nasty creek with slick rocks. After a lot of slipping and falling they were able to get him tied down. This rough sucker put a couple of the dogs on light duty for a bit.

 My brother dumped his McPherson curs at a tank and they struck this boar. I sent my two dogs to help out and they finally got him shutdown in some thick tangle brush. We sent two bulldogs in and they grabbed an ear apiece. We were able to get him stabbed without much damage to the dogs.

 Probably not the same dog or maybe that boar smelt like a turd.

 A couple of my buddies picked up some new dogs so we decided to take them out after the rain. Chance took his two walker/blue ticks that he got out of Olney while Adrian brought his blue lacy he got from some day worker by the Brazos River. Not knowing what to expect we cruised some hay fields to see what they would do. It turns out the hounds  were a little shy and long range and Woody the lacy dog was a ball of fire. He ran everywhere at full throttle. So we loaded them back on the ranger and drove the roads awhile. Woody hits a track and we dump the hounds and the race was on. They finally get him bayed in a bad canyon and all you could hear was those hound's loud bawling & choping bark echoing through that canyon. After about a 45 min. hike we finally get the bulldogs in and my brother got him stabbed. Lots of exercise but it was fun. Adrian see if that ranch hand has anymore dogs to sell.

 Me and my buddy caught this boar the other night. Struck him about 300yds out and he came down a cowtrail and met the bulldogs. No dogs cut and easy hunt. Thanks Chance.
