What is yall opinions on the best cut vest for a rougher bay dog?

I would still like him to have mobility but he does get rough so I would like the best protection as well.

The guy I bought him from in North LA has 3 BMCs and that is all he does with them is blood track, been doing it for 35 years with black mouth curs. He said as long as you keep him on a leash when blood tracking he should know the difference. I would like to give my dog a job during deer season.  Just wanted others opinions.

Does anyone use their hog dog to blood track deer?

I have a young BMC that is started on hogs. He has found his own but I only hog hunt in the cool months after deer season... too many other hobbies! I was wondering if he will learn the difference when he is blood tracking or when he is hog hunting? What is yalls opinon?

Warrent423, I was told his sire hog hunts and blood tracks, his damn is a straight blood tracking dog. I hope to do both with my pup.

He's a foundation bred dog. Havent been on too many hunts yet but now that deer season is closed down here in South LA, we will start hunting alot more.

Yall check out my yella dog. Just a lil over 10 months. He's going to be big. 70 lbs already.

I just got a second opinion from a different vet. He said that steroids would be the best thing for him. He told me to look up Horner's Syndrome in dogs. http://www.vetinfo.com/horners-syndrome-in-dogs.html

The vet gave me steroids to give him for the next week and he said he will talk to some collegues to see if what they think. He has never seen this before.

Has anyone heard of this? I came home yesterday to notice my BMC drooling out one side of his mouth, more than normal. After looking at him better his ear on that side was just hanging and his eye was not blinking... He is only 10 months old. I took him to the vet and the vet seems to think it is from getting hit in the head and caused nerve damage. Has anyone had a dog with this?

Best strike dog I got is a lab.. She'll will run a deer in no hog sign but shes jammed up on finding hogs.

The cold steel scout recon is a great knife. It is harden steel so you can chop through bone or what ever else you need to. It also comes with a great hard plastic sheath.

yellowblackmask, why do you recommend staying completely away from Foundation Bred dogs?

That is some good looking dogs!

That's all we do is walk hunt but most of the time we are hunting the marsh. It' s a lot of work but it's rewarding getting to see the dogs work and everything else you would pass up if you were on a buggy or 4 wheeler.

@goose87 we dont have many hogs there, we mostly just deer hunt.
