I don't really know the areas down there too well but hear Riverside and San Diego counties hold quite a few hogs. Maybe find some orange and avacado orchards, if there's grapes that'd be a good place too. It's pretty cutthroat in this state, especially up here. Nobody likes to share and will burn you in a second. There's still good decent dogmen here but a lot of methed up do iting hole in the butts that'll steal your dogs and burn your spot so be careful. I'm not saying it'll happen to you but don't let your guard down or be too trusting until you know someone well enough to have them over for dinner. I've never run tracking equipment but hopefully soon will be get the Garmin alpha and a couple collars. Is the English bulldog terrier like a spuds McKenzie dog? I don't really know much about the jrt dogs but there's guys that use them. I've got a Decker rat terrier x catahoula gyp that's coming along, she's a little over two and 42lbs, I really like her, short range and catchy, I'm sure that's the terrier influence. I tend to prefer smaller shorter range dogs, it's just what I've always had. My trouble dog is catahoula and kemmer and will range out pretty far but his nose is nowhere near that of my gyps. You don't need a whole lot of dogs, at least that's how I feel. We've had our asses whipped with a couple dogs and a decent size pack of dogs, there's just so many variables at times. Some hogs are gonna wreck every dog you got and that's what u need to plan for even if it doesn't happen. Get some staple guns and a medical supply kit. Are you shooting over your dogs or knifing them? I'll message you my number, I'd love to talk dogs with you.
