Nice knifes felled.  I just got two of these from England.

In one of your pics, the dog is padlocked to the chain.  Do you have to do that to keep someone from stealing them??
5  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Hunt in February on: December 23, 2014, 05:22:56 pm
I'm going to be in San Antonio end of February for a work conference.  One of my buddies will be down there as well.  We both want to go out and hog hunt with dogs.  Are there any recommendations on an outfitter?  anybody willing to let a couple of upstate NY'ers tag along with them?  I'm not interested in taking any meat home, not sure if my buddy is or not.  We just want to be a part of hog hunting with the dogs.  Love watching the dogs work and listen to them run a track, never seen a hog up close and personal.  Don't want to hunt over a feeder.  This will make a great addition to my winter hunting.  Going to Arizona in March to hunt lion on horseback with hounds, it'd be awesome to be in Texas hunting hogs.

6  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: What are the best boots for hog hunting on: December 22, 2014, 04:37:53 am
I have Schnee's pac boots.  I'm on my second pair of bottoms, first pair finally wore out and I sent them back to get new bottoms put on them.  They are easy to walk for miles in, very comfortable.  I am in the north and use them when the temps drop for snow and mud boots.  I prefer them to knee high rubber lacrosse/muck boots.
7  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Why do you do it??? on: December 22, 2014, 04:17:25 am
Nothing like being out in the woods/mountains/desert and hearing the sound of the dogs working a track.  Watching a good pack work the track and get it lined out.  That's why I hunt
8  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: deer seasn lasts way too long on: December 22, 2014, 04:13:23 am
WOW!  And I complain about deer season being too long here.  Our deer season starts on October 1 with bow and closes on December 16.  Used to start on October 15, I hate that they moved it to the first.  And I was complaining that it was too long.  Deer hunting is fun, but I would rather be out with the dogs.
9  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Coyote and Cur on: December 15, 2014, 04:47:16 pm
Thinking my BMC might make a good decoy dog.  He was about 14 months old at this time.  That is a female that had pups in the video.  He killed 5 of the 6 pups.  This was at work.  I run the grounds department of a local Country Club and my dogs go to work with me.

I have a Black Mouth Cur.  Runs squirrels, coon and coyotes if the track is fresh.  I'm in upstate NY

17  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Bird dog pictures ( picture heavy ) on: December 03, 2014, 06:14:17 pm
Great pics.  Looks like a great time.  In the third pic down, you have the dog on a lead.  the attachment looks different, I cant quite make it out.  Is it some kind of large collar or something so you can leash the dog without getting out of the saddle?
