Loaded the dogs up and made a quick run. Usually I take my main dog a female cur I call lizzy, but she was in heat so I left her and took my hound(speck) and a red cur/plot (Capone) that is still learning. Dropped them and had one found in about 10 minutes and caught in about 30 minutes. Didn’t run far at all which doesn’t happen very often where I was. First time I’ve run these two together. Might make a good team if I can keep the hound on hogs. He gets bored if he doesn’t find a hog fairly quick. Bayed and caught in a wide open spot so that was pretty cool. If I would’ve thought about it I would’ve recorded it or got a few more pictures but I didn’t have my phone when we caught the pig. I’m not 100 percent certain but I think the red dog might’ve found his first hog on this hunt. At least I heard him bark first. Taken a while but I think he’s finally coming along.

Went hunting yesterday morning with Jake and Bradley. Ran into a couple groups and got to see about 30 hogs running across a little opening in the tree line. There were big ones little ones and all in between. A few I probably could have kicked lol. Caught a big sow. And a couple other good ones but I got wet on the second catch and left my phone put up the rest of the day. Ended the hunt with 5 caught hogs. All the dogs came out okay. Jakes jethro dog took as on a chase. He’s an old Plott. Followed the hogs a couple miles down the road. Get in there to him and he has a whole group bayed up by himself. After a few minutes of trying me and Jake finally had a caught hog and got his dog caught. All in all it was a good day.

Thanks, jake bred him from a good Plot he used to have. Got killed shortly after the pups hit the ground. Plot/cur mix.

Went hunting with a good buddy jake Harrington that has helped me get started with dogs the past year and a half. Us and a few other buddies had a good hunt. We Ended up with 6 hogs. Got my pups working a little more but Capone got cut on a good boar hog that weighed in at 290 and he quit running. It was jakes dogs that found this big sucker. He’ll be alright in a few weeks jake sewed him up pretty good for me. Been trying to teach me how to do it myself but he helps me out when it’s more serious. My lizzy dog did decent but I’m glad there were some good dogs and a few good hogs for those young ones of mine to learn a thing or two. Besides my young dog getting scraped up I think everyone’s else’s dogs were okay.

Yeah it sure enough brought me to a dead stop. Found some parts on partZilla for not to bad of a price so should be going by this weekend hopefully.

Went to a place of mine we haven’t hit in a few months. Got there and went to a spot that’s usually tore up and wasn’t a hog sign one. Went to another field and his dog flash barked twice so he cut flash and tiny loose and I sent my lizzy dog and a pup I’ve been trying to get going. They went in and bayed up. I sent one more pup in and we eased closer to them. Sent my two bulldogs from 80 yards and got a boar hog about 180 or so caught. Then drove around a little while and I found a stump with the side by side and I had to call it a night. Got back to the trailers and my lizzy dog had a good cut that I saw but she’ll be okay in a few weeks. All in all it was a good night wish I would’ve have found that stump though.

My pup didn’t stumble across that shoat until their hound pup and tiny struck and my lizzy dog made it too em just before we went and caught. Shoats we’re running like crazy. Guess one got turned around and when the older dogs went in after the group my pup found a lost one! It’s a good start for her 2nd or 3rd hunt! And her 1st night hunt! She’ll come along I think. Helped getting on a roll with em last night and getting 10! Wasn’t expecting that. Good times

Had a dang good night hunting with kp and judge last night. My old lady and her sister both got to stab one, got a plot/cur pup of mine I call ginger on her first pig after she stumbled on a shoat in the hay field and she started to honor the bays a little better after that I think she’s going to take off and run with. My lead dog lizzy from now on. Judge and kp said the pigs were thick in that bottom, they weren’t kidding! After a slow start with my lizzy  dog cause her hunting partner died a few weeks back, she was right up there after the first one. She’s still got to get used to not having her usual running partner. But I think the ginger pup will come along, just have to put some more time into her! All in all we had a good time with good people and made some good memories for sure. That was one for the books fellas.
