1  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / 1st place Los cazadores hog contest on: February 02, 2015, 08:30:43 pm
What a great weekend we had. FINISHED 1st place with the biggest stringer weighed in 4 hogs gutted 957 pounds. Also were lucky enough to win big boar he dressed 305 pounds.  I met up in Carrizo springs Friday afternoon at about 430pm. With our team David Shepperd, randy, Jt miller, wade miller, and Cody Myerick. Started off fast called and got the special rule while heading to the back of the ranch and about two minutes after six we already had a 180 pound sow caught. Things never slowed down we killed over 45 hogs over the weekend. But the best we did was Sunday morning we started a sow that was bedded up around 930 in the morning that ended up being in our stringer she dressed 228 or 229. Shortly after killing a little hog across the river we gathered all the dogs back up and went maybe 3/4 of a mile to another thicket cut loose and had a big pack bayed up within 30 seconds. We killed 15  hogs from 930 am to 1130 am. The last hog we killed at 1130 just happend to be the biggest hog we killed all weekend he weighed 305 gutted also won us BIG BOAR, 30 minutes before that we killed another boar that field dressed 222  and the other hog we used in stringer was killed Saturday afternoon she weighed 202 gutted. We killed 8 to 10 hogs that would have dressed better than 190 we couldn't decide which hogs to take at the end and had very little time to decide. We got to the weigh in 10 minutes before they closed the weigh in and we weighed in last. I couldn't have hunted with a better group of dogs, guys, or had more fun.  The ranch we hunted was unbelievable as well.

3  THE CLASSIFIEDS / CLASSIFIED ADS / Dog box and trailer for sale on: July 02, 2014, 05:29:43 pm
I have an 18 foot flat bed trailer with a built on dog box that I used when I went hunting. There is enough room for a crew cab Polaris ranger to fit on the trailer behind the dog box. I no longer have use for all the space this trailer provides. It's really convenient to use during hunting contests. The trailer has 2 brand new tires on one side. Lights are LED and were professionally installed 6 months ago as well as rewired trailer brakes and lights. The only downfall is it needs a little fabrication work done to it.  The dog box on it is 69 inches wide by 7 feet long. It has 4 compartments on each side, total of 8. It can hold up to two dogs per hole very easily.  I used to double them up if need be. It has a rubber mat under neath instead of them being on the floor of the trailer which makes it easy wash to out. It also has lights on each side of the box and in the front where the ranger goes. The lights work perfectly fine other than the toggle switch just recently went out, now they flicker when messing with the toggle switch. It also has storage boxes on both side of the box that are water proof great for hunting supplies vest cut gear etc. I would like to sell it as a whole but if you would just like the dog box I'm willing to sell them separately. My name is chance Nollkamper, I live an hour south of San Antonio tx if you have any questions or would like to see more pictures you can call or email me.

7  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / 1/2 black mouth 1/2 plott brindle dog (picture) on: April 09, 2014, 03:54:30 pm
Putting this up for a good buddy. The dog is 1 1/2 old. He bought the dog right before he had a litter of pups and now does not have the room for him. The dog is a male but he is fixed. We took him hunting 2 weeks ago in the afternoon and we killed 5. He walked with us until we got close than would go in there and start baying. Last hog was a 160 pound sow and he was at the bay a good while before I sent the bull dog and we could hear him in there hammering. He's really good looking probably weighs 70 pounds. If some one has time to put him on hogs he should make a decent dog ought to have the nose. He needs the dog gone by this weekend if possible asking a 100 dollars OBO. Located in Floresville tx. Here's his email Landon_Pawlik@eogresources.com and his number is 210-241-0817

20  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Last two hunts one really teethy boar hog on: July 16, 2013, 04:31:48 pm
Went out a week ago killed a good sow coming into a milo field. Got onto another one that ran us half away across the country never got it bayed good enough. Finally left there around 3 am told my buddy were all ready up way to late lets go hit a cut wheat field that never fails there are hogs there. Well after some pursuading I finally talked him into it. And I bet he's happy I did. We drove the first part just shinning the flash light saw a good boar cut the dogs loose they ran into then wind complete opposit direction from the boar and killed a piglet. We got there and the only thing left was the bulk dogs after getting them off we herd them bayed up a couple hundred yards away sent the bull dogs and drove up as close as possible 50 yards. Got out and couldn't hear anything till we got on top of them all the dogs were caught and he wasn't making a sound. Only weighed about 160 but boy did he have some cutters luckily nothing got cut.

Went this Friday got on another runner for about 4 hours never could shut him down we think it was a cut hog he ran close to 4 miles cross country. Went to another place at 4 in the morning killed a 50 pounder pretty quick got everything loaded drove a mile cut loose hit an dropped on top of a pack I guess. Finally got one worked out after about 20 minutes was a good 140 pound boar in a nasty thicket luckily he didn't have teeth or he would have cut everything the way he was fighting in there.
