1  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Equimax and Bayer Tree and Shrub on: May 13, 2010, 09:47:56 am
Ortho makes a product identical to the Bayer and it has no fertlizer in it. I have seen it at Lowe's. Wally World had it last year but our local store does not carry it any more as a matter of fact our local Wal Mart has quit carrying the Bayer product but our Lowe's carries the Ortho product.

Some shock collars have a tone feature. My dogs respond to the tone most of the time and dont need to be shocked. Just my 2 cents worth.

Dew claws can be removed very easily with an elastrator (the rubber bands used for castration and docking of sheep, cattle and goats) works sllick as anything. Be sure and give a tetanus antitoxin shot when you do it. Why pay a vet to do it when you can do it yourself for around $5 including the price of the tetanus shot.
4  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: how late can you dock a dogs tail on: April 09, 2009, 03:24:28 pm
You can use a rubber band (elastrator) like they use on calves and sheep and goats. It does a good job. Leave it on for about a week and then cut the tail off with some pruning shears. Works real slick.  You can use this technique on any age dog. Wouldnt hurt to give the dog a tetanus shot when you put the band on just to be safe.

I was just carrying on. My moms family is from Roans Prairie. I have a lot of fond memories of that area.
