I dont know much about much (and someone is bound to verify that), but it sure looked to me like ol Creager was not use to a vest.  Sure looked uncomfortable.....I have seen alot of dogs that would not move in a vest.  Would like to see what he could do without it.

I am also sure the editing doesnt always favor the dogs or the hunters.  TV could make the best hog hunters look bad with the proper editing.  And I will say this....its better than 90% of the other reality TV shows out there.

John has been a good momma!  He has 9 healthy puppies that will be ready to go soon.  Hope one can fill the void that loosing thier momma leaves!  I know one still has your name on it, so I am sure he will let you know soon when to come get it.  Looking forward to you taking me hunting soon  Grin!!!

It was real good getting most of the crew together for a hunt.  We sure missed ya doggie!!!!

Lance,
I just stay away from the poparazzi these days.....one found me though.  I have had a good run lately, cuaght 6 hogs on 4 trips and one real nice boar with good toofies and all of the others were good hogs too.  It has taken a toll though...Dennis and I are out of catchdogs for a few weeks.  And mine is out for a month with a knee injury.  All should be fine.  Good hearing from you, even if it is talking trash.  LOL!!!

Glad to hear Tweety is doing good Mike and I know you are happy to have her back in the wood.  Congrats on the hog too.  We are really excited over here as Ruby (Tweety's litter Mate) is bred.  I am just not sure I want to do a puppy again.  Grin

I have used it on a catch dog and know of someone else who put one through the ringer on a regular basis on a catch dog and those never got cut through.
10  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: biothane cut collars on: March 04, 2011, 11:35:41 am
I have one that I have used for several years and I really like it. One of my favorite collars for a bay dog

She has the potential of being a good looking cow.

I have a god son that, the last time I saw him, asked me a question about each of the dog's I had with me.  He first asked me their names, then we wanted to know later what their middle and last names were  Grin......  I guess the next time I get a chance I will bring him to Weimar where every animal has a first, middle and last name. LOL.   Cheesy

Nice hunt and good cuase!  I recognize several of those names from the TDHA hunt every year.  Congrats to all that won and even those who just participated and fed the needy.

DE,

What weight won it this year?  Any really big hogs? Any locals place high? Just curious as it is always hard to get results from that contest.

And FYI.....I'm traveling out east this weekend for a hunt or two.

That is my TDHA HFTH honey hole, so I cannot tell you where the spot is located.
15  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Highway 77 Slaughter (10 hogs) on: February 03, 2011, 01:25:56 pm
Doggie, good thing Dave was not there.....I dont want him to know the kind of folks you and Mike were out on his place hunting with.  Nothing against Logan, but if he considers DE a friend, I have to question him.

Wish I could have been there to give you and Logan some help, but I think I am going to have to re-train my dogs before I run with ya'll again.   Grin

After.....

To me the before pictures are deceiving on the size of this deer.  Just shows how a camera can change the appearance.  My best 8pt and will go around 125, but I sure thought he was bigger.  Either way I am still proud and had a great pursuit.

I am not sure where he heard about it (and I kinda think you might have been around Chris) but Thomas made some kind of Pineapple upside down cake in a dutch oven while we were on our Public Hunt in Edna and it was pretty darn good.  I wont mention the crawfish ettouffee he made too cause then we would have to talk about slappin a momma and that just aint right.
20  GENERAL CATEGORY / HUNTING AND FISHING / Re: Thomas' Deer from Texana 11-17-10 on: November 22, 2010, 09:38:26 am
His buck rough scored 133 5/8 and was 6.5+ This wasnt his first muzzleloader kill as he harvested a doe the evening before.  I was able to take a big fat doe as well on the trip and another member of the group who will remain nameless (unless anyone asks then Thomas or I will sing like a canary) missed a doe on the last morning.

We had a great time and Thomas definitely was the lucky hunter of the week pulling the best stand.  He saw several bucks of which 2 more were legal and bigger than the one he shot.  He was just unable to get a good shot while knowing if they were legal. I let him tell his hunt story.

PS Thomas you are welcome Wink
