HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Cigarettes...

CONGRATS Ryan!!! Isn't it awesome to be a "QUITTER" Just take it one day at a time and you can make it through. I am on day 38 and it is getting easier. The urges are still there but you find ways of handling them differently than lighting up. I smoked for 27 years and when I couldn't catch my breath, it was time to put them down. Like Krystal said, the weight gain is the worst but that will be fixed in time. I am like Oly - cigarette smoke now smells bad enough it nauseates me and I thought it never would. Anyway, keep up the awesome work and welcome to the club!!!

Thanks Ryan for encouraging folks to sign up and contribute to the cause!! Very glad to have you on board!!!
You are dead on that organizations like LSWDA and TDHA NEED folks to step up and stand united. There is strength in numbers and in the political ring, numbers mean A LOT!!! With the upcoming 83rd Legislative Session looming closer every day, we are going to need everyone to step up, help out, and do their part. LSWDA is working diligently at getting things ready for this session. We hope to accomplish some great things and we want everyone to be a part of it!!

It got bogged down in the Budget mess of the last Legislative Session. We have it in the works to be re-introduced this next legislative session. We will need everyone to pull together, contact your Senators and Representatives, and help us get it through all of the hoops. It is going to be a busy, busy time starting January 1, 2013.

2) Evidence for the above listed exemptions is "self executing," says Francis, which means that a person does not have to file anything with TDLR up front if they are claiming an exemption for breeding these type dogs.
3) HOWEVER! If someone files a complaint against those exempted dog breeders saying they should be licensed as a Cat or Dog Breeder, then TDLR will ask that breeder to provide proof that each dog is exempt with entry registration forms or receipts from an entity conducting the event. [Charles Johnson, TDLR counsel, said the breeder must have the defense ready "if they come after you."] It will be decided case by case. Such proof must conclusively identify and relate to the specific dog for which an exemption is requested. That is one of the issues at hand that hopefully gets cleared up soon.
