Alright Boys, Its finally here, I am departing to Oregon on Thursday morning. I was going to take my white dog along with me but plans have changed due to City Ordinance on dogs ( bunch of BS if you ask me) Goose is 3/4 Dogo 1/4 Pit, lead in dog, fully finished. Will hold a pig as long as you need him to, hes fast, strong, doesn't mess with anything but a hog, goes straight to the bay, and has absolutely no dog aggression at all NONE. He loves playing with my little boy. I want a solid $400 for the dog, I need him gone by Thursday morning!!! 830-263-4174

I been talking to a fella in northern california about that. He says they come to texas and buy a bunch of pigs, give em shots and whatever else they need to be considered livestock and haul em on back to his ranch in cali. I thought about doing the same but I dont realy feel like getting caught bringing em into oregon. give their state dept. a call and ask what they think of ferral pigs..lol But if one of y'all happen to be driving to oregon, load them suckers up and bring my way

as a-k hunter said, make sure you are prepared to lose a family pet if thats all he is at this point. I had a buddy lose his pet the other day to a pig and hes fine but his wife and kids wanna hang him for taking the dog hunting. sad story for the kids.
I would suggest trying him in a bay pen of coarse, if he dont have interest dont try to force him. If he dont work out on a pig , just put him back in the house where he was and grab ya a couple early started hog dogs. if you decide you need any let me know. ganna have a couple up for sale here real quik.

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Doggers need to be stand up to!

This problem affects me in the area of finding new places to hunt, seems like all the landowners around here have had so many problems with irresponsible hog hunters that they would rather have hogs than hog doggers!! I try to asure them that im not what they have experienced in the past and even offer a written contract, but nothing seems to change their mind. Its like were a bad breed of people to anyone who has had a negative experience due to the irresponsible hog doggers. GRRRR

This may sound crazy but it worked, I hunted with a guy in WA state years ago, ran walkers for bear, he had a young male coming into manhood thought he was big $hit. I saw that dog attack another dog twice, the man has more balls than me, but he broke em up, took the aggressive dog and threw him on his back, got on his chest started hollerin and making a bunch of noise while choking the dog out!! crazy right, I guess it was to show him he was the alpha dog! He only had to do that twice and he said the dog quit that crap,
If your crazy enough to jump on top of a dog that just was fighting you might try it, lol have fun.

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Late Night
|
on: June 26, 2009, 07:27:52 pm

I never seem to have a camera on me so i never have pics of my kills or my dogs. So i finally got some time today to get together some pics of a hunt the other night and some of my dogs. We have had a 100% kill ratio at this place we hunt. The other night we dropped dogs at 10pm and thought at 2am that we were finally ganna get skunked on this place, we made it about 3/4 way back to the truck when the strike dogs burned (the blue heeler, white leopard dog and my cat dog in the green vest). wasnt a min later when they bayed up. the rest of the dogs burned so I let my new addition goose(the dogo x pit) to the bay. BAM caught pig!! Fun night but WAAAAY to late This is skeeter, my tight bayin little bitch This is Preacher ( Strike Power) This is Goose ( Pride and Joy CD) And dont forget my little hunter Wyatt and his Weener dog

GENERAL CATEGORY / BAY PENS / Re: Tips for training a bay pen dog
|
on: June 24, 2009, 09:50:09 am
|
|
Im new to training my dogs in the bay pen, but I will share what ive found,
Iv been throwing this gyp in a pen with other dogs barking all around the pen, this has helped with her not looking out. sometimes I will go to where shes baying and talk over her back, she used to look out to me alot but now she dont even care im there, she just bays, shes very quickly got used to the other dogs and me talking and it doesnt affect her performance anymore. I bayed her out at the mccoy bay and she scored almost perfect. not bad for the first bay contest. As far as teaching her to bay I havnt done anything, Like its been posted already I think thats just the breed.
Hope this helps. Chris
