3  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Would like to stud out my FBMC on: January 20, 2019, 01:47:34 am
I have an old male I'd like to get a pup or two off of before he's gone. I'd like to breed him to a good, hard hunting female. I have hundreds of pictures to show rhe hogs he's produced. He is a true, finished hog dog. He needs no help. He can be taken alone and find any hog in the area. I can text pics of him if needed. Text or call 870-904-9536
4  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Non aggressive male when breeding on: March 01, 2015, 01:48:58 am
I can't say she is bred but they can be inseminated without a tye. They're are a whole bunch of pit bull guys who get down and guide em in just like you described cause of the aggressiveness issue. It not the most fun but it's what ya gotta do sometimes.

I've tried that.  A guy that came to breed his gyp to him before noticed that his "knot" wasn't ever getting in the gyp so we got in there and he held his gyp up and I held my male down once he got in her and we wouldn't let them apart and they hung up.  I've tried trying to guide him and help him this time but he stops when I try to do anything.
5  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Non aggressive male when breeding on: February 28, 2015, 11:35:52 pm
I have a 7 year old BMC. I have had him lock up with a female before but he is not an aggressive breeder. Sometimes it takes hours for him to finally lock up. Had a guy drive in several months ago and we noticed when he would be on his gyp humping he wouldn't stay on long enough for his knot to come out. We got in and next time he was on her good we kinda held the two together where he couldn't get off and they locked. I have a female here now. Been here since Thursday at 5:30. We watched I'll 7 and he constantly got on her, humped, got off, got right back on. Etc. This has Ben going on for 2 days. I've yet to see them lock up. The female is ready. I've bred dogs for years. anybody ever dealt with this? Her window is closing and I just don't know what to do. Its not my gyp so I am not gna inseminate her. But something has got to give.. This afternoon he got In her several times for sometimes 7 or 8 strokes then hell just get off and look at me. Then do it again. Sometimes he won't even be near it and hell be humping her back, hip, etc. I know this is a weird post but this is not normal for a male..any info (and not gay jokes....lol) would be appreciated.

And let me say they have been in a trailer since Thursday and I've watched them except at night and while I work and its the same thing non stop. For 2 straight days.

DDC Veterinary...Google them.  They are reasonably priced and quick results.

Use these folks without a doubt.  I've used them twice and it is a smooth, fairly fast process.
10  HOG & DOGS / HOG DOGS / Re: Ruptured Achilles on: August 14, 2014, 09:20:44 am
My best dog had his Achilles cut in two by a boar several years ago.  Nearly bled out before I got him to the vet but they pulled the bottom portion up and the top portion down and reattached it the next day during surgery.  Like some above said, he was in a full cast so no weight would be put on that leg.  I had a hard time with him not trying to tear the cast off and had to finally have a super hard one put on, but all that happened about 200-300 hogs ago for him.  Smiley   Grin Grin Grin  You can look at it and tell something happened bc it kinda sticks out to the side but he is a beast regardless.  I would say he is at least 70-80% on it.  Only time I can really tell it bothers him is on LONG hunts in the winter when we may hunt 6 or 7 hours.  He will pick it up some but that's it.

13  HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / 8-9-14 Hot morning hunt on: August 14, 2014, 09:13:48 am
Took Bob, a new gyp, and one of my young dogs out early Saturday morning.  Cut them loose and within 15 minutes I check the gps to see where Bob is and he is steadily rolling out.  Him and my gyp were together and I knew they were on a hog.  This was the longest track I have ever watched Bob take.  He put a pig at the end of it at nearly 1.5 miles away across a major creek.  Wasn't a big hog but it was one I wanted.  I had one of my feeders get knocked down last weekend by this boar.  And another spot I fed last week for the first time he found and ate all my rice bran in one night.  So hopefully I can start feeding again and have some deer.   :toast

14  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Cleaning Cut Vests/Collars on: June 20, 2014, 10:20:03 pm
I have two vests I am going to get fixed back up.  The maker is going to put new straps and stuff on it and patch up a couple of holes.  The vests have some matted dog hair that you basically can't pull out or off of the inside.  I have soaked in water and it still don't help.  Any ideas how to get that matted up hair to come off easily?  I don't want to send them back as nasty as they are now.
15  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: When your a THIEF!!!! on: May 07, 2014, 11:39:25 am
This isn't like they stole "just" a lead or "just" a hobble.  THey STOLE a dog and I'm sure 99% of the people on this board consider their dogs part of their family.  They needed to have the law called if that's what it took to get them back.  Maybe something like this will help them to realize that every action has a consequence.  If this costs them some jobs along the way, the lesson will stick even more.  I don't wish bad things on anyone but this is a mistake these boys will have to live with and hopefully learn from.  I believe the situation was handled as it should.  Glad you got your dog back.
16  HOG & DOGS / GENERAL DISCUSSION / Re: Rattlesnake buyers?? on: April 07, 2014, 11:10:31 am
Are those really aggressive?  Here in southwest Arkansas we have timber rattlers but im more concerned with the cottonmouths.  We don't typically see a ton of rattlesnakes but while hunting in the summer we may see 5 cottonmouths in every mudhole we cross.

19  THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / FBMC Female on: November 07, 2013, 04:15:54 pm
This is a pup out of my male strike dog and a gyp from NE Louisiana.  Both parents are hog dogs and the father is the best dog I've ever had.  He is a 5 year old completely finished dog.  This is the pick of the litter from when I let a man breed his gyp to my male.  She is a great acting, good natured dog but I have a couple of new dogs I am going to try and get going this winter.  She is around 7 months old I think and I do have her Foundation papers.
