on: July 16, 2012, 07:43:00 pm

I caught this stray that's been running loose in the area for a couple of weeks. She appears to be all or mostly Walker hound. I wormed her and I've been feeding her for a few days. She's not a bad kennel barker...just barks/howls a couple of times when someone pulls up. Female 1-2 years old I work nights, so please email my wife if you're interested. Leave a # and I'll call you back. amberlowmiddleton@gmail.com

THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Lacy Female - Started Blood Tracking Dog
|
on: December 12, 2010, 05:02:05 pm
|
Piper is NOT a hog dog. She has potential as a blood tracker...she's run lots of practice tracks and two real ones this season. She'd also make a good companion and riding buddy. She doesn't bother livestock or dig, and she has no aggression issues (human or animal). Piper doesn't do very well in a kennel (she barks and climbs), but stays pretty close to the house when she's out. 2.5 years old; she is already spayed. Best Offer...wife might be picky about where she goes. THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Started Female Pit (reduced)
|
on: December 12, 2010, 04:53:30 pm

Had some offers fall through so she's back up for sale. Blue female pit bull for sale. Right at a year old, spayed, approx. 55 pounds. Caught in the woods one time...was caught on the jaw (both ears were already taken). She has one broken canine tooth. She hasn't shown any kind of aggression, but she plays rough...I'd be careful with her around small dogs or puppies. $75 OBO. DJ Middleton 936-858-3108 or dj@lowfamilyranch.comLocated in Alto, TX

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: CDs pound or breeder

I see benifits to both sides. I think if you might be wanting to breed the dog it should come from good blood lines weather you raise the dog your self, or get him when he is older.
One I got from the pound when she was about a year old. The other I got when she was about a year old from a family who had had her a couple of months and could not keep her. So I know nothing of eirthers breeding and got both at about a year old and neither had ever seen a hog.
Neither have any dog or human aggression and catch very well. I would consider them almost finished.
I dont know if I have just gotten lucky ? But I will definatly look at the shelters next time I need a CD

I ordered and paid for one almost 3 months ago, and I am getting tired of waiting for it. I sure hope it is here by January. Take care D.J.

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / 4 dogs cut

Heath, Jeff, me and Ryan (first timer) went on a run Friday. Got on a good boar in the pasture at a feeder. The dogs got him stopped for a couple of minutes about 300 yards out. Me and Ryan got about fifty yards out and it went quiet, so we kept walking in that direction. Another couple of minutes went by and they came alive again about 100 yards out. So we took out in that direction and cut the pits loose. I came up on them in a pile of brush under a cedar tree. I jumped on the cedar and right on the other side and under me was about a 180lb boar and a pit on each ear. I had a little trouble legging him since he was backed up under me about half way and there was not room for me to join them under the log. He finally turned to the left some and I was able to get and leg. Just as I started to pull him and try and flip him Jeff showed up to help. This is when I learned that Ricky our best dog has 2 bad pokes on his side behind the rubs, and a couple other dogs are bleeding. So we stuck the hog and checked other dogs. Heath's lacy Tuff had a good cut on his shoulder about 2 inches and got some muscle, and his cur mix Tanner got about a 4 inch cut on his front leg. Then my pit Shelly had a inch cut on her chest just skin and a cut on the pad on her paw(that I am not sure how she got). Anyway we are rather new to the patching up so we sent Ricky to the Vet and we took care of the rest. All the dogs are doing fine. This Hog did more damage to our pack than any other by far. I will post a picture of the hog when i get it from Jeff.

Four in a week thats some good hunting. Sounds like your dogs fared well this week. Especially, with that bigger boar looked like he had a set of killers on him. Congrats
