Love those blueticks! Do you run coons with them as well?

I am new to this whole business, but with other hunting dogs I have always demanded a trial period, or even just a hunt with the owner to see if the dog will run. This does not seem to be the case with the owners of hog dogs...why? If the dog is solid, what reasoning is there to deny a trail, especially if we are talking about an investment over $1000?

We traded a pup a few months ago for a Moore Maker knife and I must say I was impressed with it. If you can find one of the proper blade design, that would be a good choice. I have been looking at a Gerber Mk. II for a while, but don't want to plop the money down. I think that it would be AWESOME:
