THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Plott and Red Cur For Sale
|
on: July 10, 2011, 12:11:10 pm

1st is a 3 yr old Plott gyp. She has found hogs on her on. She is NOT open, but might yelp if shes looking at one or on a very hot track. Once bayed she has a good mouth, and not afraid to use some teeth. $500 2nd is a Red Cur, about a 4 yr old. Jam up dog, completely silent until bayed. Not very rough, but bays real tight. Has a few scars to prove it. $650 3rd is a BMC/Catahoula gyp, about 18 months old. She has been in the woods a few times and ends up at the bay with the old dogs. $150 I took a job in Louisiana and have no time to hunt. The dogs are in the Lufkin TX area. 337-287-0356 kwdick@gmail.com

I've got a plott gyp that I got from a guy on here. So far she is pretty quiet, but I only hunt her with cur dogs. One thing about it, if there was a hog in the area within the last 4-6 hours, she'll find it. Like someone else said though, she seems to be getting rougher.

I have a young Plott maybe 18 months old and so far she is pretty dang quiet. She don't have anymore mouth than a cur. Every now and then when the hog is running she'll bark a little, but nothing bad at all. My buddy has a BMC gyp that is way more open than her.

Well due to work I haven't been able to get to the woods until Monday. Naturally my dogs were fat (little like their owner) and out of shape. Talked to a buddy of mine who is on a lease on the Neches river and we set up a hunt. I turned out Radar (Plott gyp), Deadwood (UGLY) and Jug (Yella dog). My buddy had a 9 month old Mountain Cur pup. We let them clean out and all, then we headed out lookin' for some sign. Well after about 20 minutes we hadn't heard a bark. All the dogs came back but Radar was acting a little piggy. So I left the wheeler and walked about 50 yrds, and Radar left out. Ten seconds later I heard her bay up, then the squealin' started. When I got across the slough Radar was bayin' and Deadwood and Jug were caught. Small sow about 80-100lbs. Nothin' to brag about on hog size but I sure was proud of my dogs. Radar is only about 15 months! Jug might be a year. Not too bad for young dogs. The only one mad was Snowball my pit gyp!!! The sow was the only hog we caught so we cut her loose, gotta leave one for seed. By the way all the dogs except for the bulldog have come from people on here. I have had some bad luck with dogs from people on here, but for the most part I am pleased. Happy Huntin' Kevin

THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / BMC x Catahoula Pups

I have a litter of BMC/Catahoula pups. These pups should be pretty good dogs, I am keeping a couple myself. I own the gyp, she is a good help dog, and a buddy of mine had the dad, he got killed by a hog a few months ago. The mom isn't gritty but the dad was, and he would find his own hog. The gyp has found a few but a better help dog. $75. 936-635-5625

/if you really want to take her and she is in heat. A friend of our suggested rubbing Vicks over that certain area and it works. The male dogs usually leave them alone
I've heard that, but never tried it. If it works holler at me cause my bitch catch dog is in heat too.

I've gor an old grade gelding that my kids have outgrown. Not size wise but they have graduated to barrel horses. This hores has been hauled to Colorado and hunted off of, and been to playdays as well. I'm not trying to push him just thought he might fit the bill. Now he ain't the prettiest thing in the pasture but he is damn sure broke. Any questions pm me or call 936-635-5625. Thanks Kevin

Yeah, I put a tablespoon too, but I like the idea of the spray bottle. Seems like more of the feed will get covered. Cause I have one that don't eat much but she really likes the rice bran oil.
