Has anyone ever hunted behind a weimaraner? I know they are mainly used as bird dogs, but I have seen some really good hog dogs that were bird dogs. The weimaraner seems lake an athletic, fast, intelligent dog. Dont know why that couldnt be a good hog dog.

Some people like to run the pigs to death!  (hound dogs) Some people like to catch the pigs, kill them, and then catch another!  (cur dogs) Me, I like the second choice! Plus I have Dogos!  Great combination!!

My son and I had a great strike dog named Gunner that died the same way. He went hunting and when we came home he would not eat the same as before. It took about a week and then he died!  He was a great dog!

This is Leona (100% full blooded, Registered Dogo) and the European Wild Hog she tracked and caught with some help from a small pit that was killed by this hog.

Good hog. I am also a fan of the Garmin, but the one problem you may run ito is when the dogs are in a thicket you may jump in and out of reception.

Actually she comes from Lone Star Kennels. A woman named Judy McDonald owns it. Both the dog's  were born and breed in Argentina.

No man I sold her about 5 months ago to a guy in north texas with 10 thousand arces. I didnt have the country for her and she kept getting me in trouble with land owners. LOL. She was to much for me!!

Any hog hunters in the south Texas area, by that I mean Dilley, cotulla, Devine, Hondo or that area that would like to meet up for a hunt. I hunt with one guy, but he recently got back with his wife and we dont get out as much as we used to. I am always looking for new people. I will drive anywhere inside 50 miles.

I am selling my 3 year old Plott gyp. You will need a tracking system and plenty of land. She is semi-open on a hot track, but if its cold she is silent. She will run a hog to death, but here is South Texas I dont have big country to hunt and I need something to shut one down.
