i gotta little gyp thats as skiddish as all get out she is about two now and up until here recently she was wild she still has her quirks but i have her on the same playing field as me now....i cant hunt her or should i say turn her out around alot of people or people talking and cutting up i have to walk her away from the truck and then cast her several months back she about met her maker when i chased her for over an hour in circles and finally caught her i took her collar off threw her in the dog box and put the clip in the 22 the guy i was hunting with talked me out of it and i take his word on dogs he's been in the game for about 30 years and im glad he did i started taking her out of the kennel every evening and leashing her to a trailer to feed her and now i can call her and her come to me....her only quirk now is when she is bayed you better slip in there quietly or she is going to leave out other than that her casts are getting farther her hunt is getting harder and her bottom is getting longer i really dont know why she acts like she does i owned her dam and sire and neither was like that her mom was somewhat timid but eventually came around after about a week of petting up and the rest of the litter was a little to friendly so maybe they will come out of it with age i know how aggravating it is to have to hunt and run down a dog after hunting

ive got a little gyp about 40 lbs and my male is about 50 lbs and i hav a great handle on them we background over a 1000 yearlings a year on our place all throughout the year and the dogs are broke off of stock and the horses are always used to go catch and pen cattle we will just throw some cur dogs up in the trailer with them its just the woods are kinda thick around here and im afraid that leading them would be an issue with the constant battle of tangling

i myself dont have much experience with tournaments having only hunted in one but imo the barr hog rule was a way to answer all the crying and bickering from the people who only hunt with what i call the stick and shoot method and that being stick the hog shoot a picture and be gone with it....hog hunting has grown extremely fast and still growing at an alarming rate without people realizing that this was once a way of life and not just sport and barring hogs was a means of population control and feeding families without having to put alot of money into feeding a hog out by lettting them feed theirselves out and that people still practice it and i find its a crying shame that organizations who pride themselves on supporting heritage of working dogs are letting competitions and money get in their way of preserving the ways that these dogs were bred and raised to do.....my hats off to you chance and the rest of you guys for standing up for what you believe.....like you said these are supposed to be HOG DOG competitions and what does a hog dog do when you turn it out....find HOGS be it boar, sow. barr, shoat, pig or whatever as long as at the end of the day they are putting hogs at the end of tracks....btw great hunt guys and i hope the dogs heel up for yall

got a barn full of good broke horses that are just about bomb proof and a HUGE swamp that is a wma back behind my house that is chalk full of hogs that has fourwheelers trails covering a part of it but there is still so much land that could be accessed by boat or on foot and ive been thinking about hunting it off of horseback i got a boat and have hunted it a good bit and the parts that have 4wheeler trails get dogged pretty good and we got 100 acres down the road from the house that joins it as well that i can acess it without having to worry about running into anybody....just been trying to figure out how to ride my bulldog on the back of the horse....i been thinking bout attaching a piece of carpet to my saddle pad and letting it stick out behind the saddle for the bulldogs feet to grip into and attaching a rope to the saddle to snap the bulldog to what yall think....has anybody ever done this and do yall have any pics

like my preacher said if the good lord wouldve condemed same sex marriage it would be in the bible and we would have started with adam and steve instead of adam and eve.....the politicians and evangelist put a smile on their face and say THEIR gonna pray YOUR way into heaven just to get your vote and your donation....last time i read it it was a sin to twist the bible and interpret in your own context...

bahahaha yellowblackmask.....the year i went there was a fellow with a dalmation right in the middle of a stringer of cur dogs being it was a black and white spotted dog in the middle of a sea of yellow dogs i had to go ask....fellow said she was a top notch strike dog but just wouldnt bay, so i ask him how he knew she was a strike dog he proceeds to tell me that he has a 5 acre baypen and that everytime he put her in there with his other dogs she was always at the bay....had another fellow who owned a very prominent baypen east texas, not going to put their name out there but he told me and a friend of mine that he went to all the local pounds about a month or so before UE and would get every cur looking dog and get them to bayin and turn around and sell them as "started" hogdogs...had anothr fellow ask me as i was walking by if i was interested in some started hogdog pups, i asked him his definition of a started dog and he said that they would bay the fire out of a hog in his baypen, i politely said no thanks and kept on strolling, i was talking to one of the vendors there from fla who i knew only ran yella dogs and he had some spotted up pups in a pen when i asked what they were he said "partin" dogs when i asked about what was he doing with them he said he could turn a quick buck off of them that week.....just cracks me up at all the "hogdogs" that are bought sold and traded there

to me the valbazen is the best stuff ive tried along witht he ivomectin...the valbazen treats tapes and coccidiosis as well.....safegaurd and panacur are the exact samething just read the active ingredients and must be given three days in a row for it to really work, worming your dogs once a month with either will only allow the parasites to build immunity to it faster...but to each his own people are gonna have opinions on it and what they use just like anything else( feeds, hounds vs curs, open vs silent, wildlife vs quicktrack, etc. etc. etc.)
