I went on that hunt twice, spring of 2011 and 2012 I think. Anyway, there are great accommodations and even better food. We caught some hogs, though not a ton in relation to how much we hunted, both years, but yes our dogs from our post oak country took a whipping in the brush country. However, both years we went we knew each group that were bringing dogs and everyone worked well together. The family and their employees were great hosts to both the dog teams and their own customers. Could I catch more hogs in home area, yes. But the hunt with a fun group of guys was what the weekends were about to me.

I use one for the yard dog, but in reverse. It works well. I buried the line at the edge of the house, and it keeps the dog off the patio and flower beds. The rest of the yard/pasture he can roam free. If you do it like that, the need for using the flags to mark the barrier is unnecessary. The dog realizes that at a certain distance from the house the shock occurs. If you use it to contain him, make sure you put the flags up the first week or so. Eventually they learn the perimeter and you can remove the flags. I too agree it is probably a bad idea yo try to contain hunting dogs with it. When hogs come through my place at night my kennels barely contain mine.

Listening to "our" president speak at the memorial service, he will start this week. Be aware, it's coming. If you have not made your donation to the NRA, do it now. They are going to need all the resources they can get.

Two guys are out playing golf one day. Ahead of them are two women, who are playing the course extremely slow. About the time they reached the 7th hole, the two men sat on the tee box waiting, while the two women ahead of them chipped and chipped attempting to get on the green. Finally, one man said to the other "Wait here. I am going to take the cart up there and ask them if they mind if we play through." So the fella drives about half way down the fairway, stops, and comes back. He tells his partner "You are going to have to ask them because I can't. One of those women is my wife, and the other is my girlfriend" So, the second man takes the cart, drives about half way down the fairway. He stops, turns around, and comes back. As he arrives back at his partner, he states "Dang, it sure is a small world, isn't it!"

Been away from the PC awhile T-Bob. It's sloppy delicious. Hambuger patty, lettuce, tomato, guacamole, sandwiched in greasy cooked corn tortillas. Onced you have eaten a burger with a corn tortilla, you will never want a bun again. I have tried to duplicate it at home, but never have mastered the exact flavor.

I have seen hogs on the intracoastal "spoil" islands. Can anyone hunt them? Who do they belong to? I am talking in Texas. I am not sure how where the state lines run.

I think I saw a program onn that Jaguar collaring hunt. The would tree them, dart them, and catch em in a net when they fell out of the tree. However, one fell prior to having the full effect of the drug. This ole boy grabbed the jaguar by the tail while the dogs bayed at his head. Looked a little hairy for a while. I think I would have gone up the tree when the cat fell down!

Not going to give you hell, and you are correct. The losers in this situation are definitely his family and the young lady. I am just glad that our system is not going to ruin the life of the young lady who was forced into the situation, and hold the other man accountable for his actions.

Actually, I read today that they have charged the other man with mureder. They said if you are in the act of a crime(maybe said felony) and someone is killed because of that crime being committed, you can be charged with murder. His accomplice is being charged with his death. Finally, something to be proud of with our judicial system!

Yes, Disney is one well oiled machine. We were there with the kids this past summer. If you think you have a more efficient or economical way of doing things than what is being done, find out whether Disney has tried it before. If it is better, they have thought of it and implemented it already. One question for the Florida boys. I saw a lot of land while riding in the monorails, but never one hog root. Who has that contract with Disney?

Just saw this thread this morning. Read all the way through it. It was kind of like a great book that ended very anticlimactic. I knew the bad guy would be banned at the end of it, but I thought it was going to be with one of those great one liners from Mike like "See Ya!" or something like that.

Not a member of the hog family - and yes, they can reach back and scratch their own A$@ with their nose. Have run dogs in South Texas but never had the misfortune of having to deal with them then. Do not know if we have never hit them, or if the dogs did not mess with them.
